Double Review: False Memory Trilogy

It's not often that I do a double review on one post, but because these reviews are writing much slower separated that I've decided to joint them.

False Memory Trilogy is an three book series written by Dan Krokos, he published False Memory in August 2012 and the second book False Sight will be released this month August 13th, 2013.

False Memory

False Memory (False Memory, #1) Miranda wakes up alone on a park bench with no memory. In her panic, she releases a mysterious energy that incites pure terror in everyone around her. Except Peter, a boy who isn’t at all surprised by Miranda’s shocking ability.

Left with no choice but to trust this stranger, Miranda discovers she was trained to be a weapon and is part of an elite force of genetically-altered teens who possess flawless combat skills and powers strong enough to destroy a city. But adjusting to her old life isn’t easy—especially with Noah, the boyfriend she can’t remember loving.

Then Miranda uncovers a dark truth that sets her team on the run. Suddenly her past doesn’t seem to matter... when there may not be a future.

Dan Krokos’ debut is a tour-de-force of non-stop action that will leave readers begging for the next book in this bold and powerful new series.

Paperback, 336 pages

False Sight

False Sight (False Memory, #2) All Miranda wants is a normal life. She's determined to move past the horrible truth of her origin as a clone so she can enjoy time with her boyfriend, Peter, and the rest of her friends at school. But Miranda quickly learns that there's no such thing as normal-not for a girl who was raised to be a weapon. When one of Miranda's teammates turns rogue, it begins a war that puts the world in jeopardy. Now, Miranda must follow her instincts-not her heart-in order to save everything she's fought so hard to keep. With the image of a terrible future seared in her mind, what will Miranda have to sacrifice to protect the people she loves?

Dan Krokos's sequel to the tour-de-force False Memory is a mind-blowing thriller with high-octane action that will leave readers begging for the final book in this bold and powerful trilogy.

Review of False Memory

What happens when you don't remember except for your name and where you are? Miranda North try to convince herself that it was all a dream, its not real until one person named Peter says that he can help. Soon Miranda demand answers and knew Peter could provide with those answers, but if she can't trust anyone how can she trust Peter?

Miranda now understands everything; someone had mess with her memory shots and without the right amount, her memories can be lost forever. Until she experiences ghost memories. Soon Miranda and Peter are on the search for their other teammates Noah and Olive. But then they learn that there are others like them hunting them down, their primary goal is to take them straight to their boss and perhaps extracts the memories Peter, Noah, Olive and Miranda has obtained.

Will Miranda understand what she and her friend’s purposes are and why there’s more to be revealed?

I give this five cat's tails up, the action was filled packed and I love the gun stance between the team but also when Miranda has mix confusions about her memories.

Review of False Sight

Will anything make sense? Miranda, Peter, Noah, Rhys and Sequel are trying to learn what the creators created them for. But when Sequel starts acting strange and display different personalities, are Miranda, Peter, Noah and Rhys safe?

Miranda follows memories and her guts while the rest of the team hopes to find Sequel and demand answers to her actions, but soon they are lead to a black hole and to a whole other part of the world where things were becoming quite clear about the Roses purposes.

Soon Miranda can't deny what Sequel intentions are, but will she be able to stop Sequel?

Will she be able to save the world?

I give this four cat's Tails up, there a lot of interesting things that happen in this book but also things are still unexplained

Ramble

This book trilogy certainly drew me in when I requested book two from Netgallery by mistake I didn't know it was book two until I went on goodreads to see if it was one or two or three for that matters. Dan's idea of having a group of people where the brain been engineered to create waves and affect others around you, controlling and responding to fear. Now during the moment I thought it would be about these people who can create fears towards an enemy or such and such but it turns to be a different route.

Dan had these characters purpose for something ease, something that would be explained later in the book. Abnormality in the blood that shows these people can survive the gene therapy to become what is called a ROSE.

But for Miranda she doesn't remember things, Peter a guy that claim to have known her since kids explains but also evidence suggest that someone from the inside had been altering her memory shots. But because of the gene therapy that Miranda, Peter as well others the side effect of this therapy is memory loss so that why there are shots given to keep those intact. But the question remains, who altered Miranda's shots and why?

While Miranda's memory is fragmented, she experience pieces of her memories of her friends but she is even more confused about her relationship with Noah who a big part of her memory.  Miranda and Peter are in the search for Noah and Olive, but when the team get together they realizes that there are others just like them chasing them down . . . Hunting.

A secret is revealed and a whole bunch of ROSEs are discovered.

So what does False Sight offer?

It still brings up that many questions that the crew learn in False Memory but then they find themselves learning the purpose of ROSEs and in that time the team also loses another member.

Miranda's guilt of what she learn at the end of False Memory and learns that she is not the Miranda  Noah knows because his Miranda was killed. Miranda and Peter has become an item but when Noah's life is lost all that is left are his memories that Miranda decides that she should carry while trying to figure out what happen to the another Miranda(Sequel) intentions.

Soon things are revealed and new things are evolving, someone will die to save the world but who?
