Currently Reading!

I know I said I wasn't going to have time to read books now that I've started school and math seems to drop homework in my lap. Each assignment is due in two days after. It's been assigned HUH? Now I'm not a brainiac on math but I do okay but some things just take awhile to sink into my full creativity/anatomy & physiology/want-to-read/want-to-write/and-focus-on-math BRAIN.

Yes a lot goes on in my Brain . . . MEEEOOOWWW let's move on,

Disconnect (Divided Worlds, #1)I'm still reading Disconnected (Divided World #1) for the Divided World Tours, I have an excerpt coming up on Friday September  6th that is organized by Xpresso Books Tour  I also will be posting the book review on the same post. So goal this weekend? Finished the book and continue writing the review.

Omens (Cainsville, #1)
Now my Litterbox came with a new book! Omens by Kelley Armstrong, now I've never read anything by her but when I heard about Omens it drew me in. I mean how could you not with the title or the cover?

I've barely begun it but I'm much further into the book that I thought, it's that good! I'm not playing with just any "toys" I'm playing with a catnip filled toy. Achoo! Sniff, Sniff.

Note: I've barely made a dent into the book but its catnip worthy to play with over and over again.   Plus there's a Cainsville Files, App

First ever interactive story for Kelley Armstrong–and Penguin–out now
A little quip about it
Cainsville Files features Jenn McCoy, a struggling private investigator who finds herself searching for her missing high-school sweetheart—possibly a victim of the notorious Valentine Killer. The gamer’s choices will either help Jenn solve the case—or doom her to a number of tricky fates!
Both new readers and devoted fans will be able to absorb the exciting plot choices offered as the book and the game have been designed as stand-alone works; however, there is plenty of fun crossover for those who have read the book

So that all I have to say for now :-)

Currently Reading: False Sight

I know, I know . . . It been forever since I've done this type of post but I am staying very busying with my blog and my posts. If you haven't heard, there's a new feature called Mouse Watch. That feature I will use whenever I'm eyeing a book/books that I can't wait to get my paws on. Sure I might be watching mices but that duty is for the big cat Buddy who live to do that.

So False Sight . . . What is it, Who wrote it?

False Sight (False Memory, #2)All Miranda wants is a normal life. She's determined to move past the horrible truth of her origin as a clone so she can enjoy time with her boyfriend, Peter, and the rest of her friends at school. But Miranda quickly learns that there's no such thing as normal - not for a girl who was raised to be a weapon. When one of her teammates turns rogue, it begins a war that puts the world in jeopardy. Now Miranda must follow her instincts - not her heart - in order to save everything she's fought so hard to keep. with the image of a terrible future seared into her mind, what will she have to sacrifice to protect the people she loves?

Dan Krokos's sequel to the tour de force False Memory is a mind-blowing thriller with high-octane action that will leave readers begging for the final book in this bold and powerful trilogy.

Hardcover, 336 pages
Expected publication: August 13th 2013 by Hyperion

I've request this book from Netgallery only to realize that it was book #2 so I order the first book False Memory (Review is underway). I love Dan's ideas for this series and typically this kind of book would confused me but it doesn't and the storyline is only getting for clearer. I'm axnious to know what Miranda and the remaing of her crew will do once they discovered what's their purpose is.

Blogger Times: Where I've been

I haven't gone anywhere as you can tell with my numerous posts, however I am participating in a 15 Day Book Blogger Challenge. So that takes up a lot of my blogging time . . . writing and posting is a lot of work luckily this isn't hand-written otherwise I would have given up long ago because I am horrible with writing and my hand tends to cramp when I write for long period of times. Thanks God for Technology!

So I haven't been anywhere . . . but I'll update on what I've been reading

I am reading at least three books this month (well trying to) I just have a lot of reading to do and they are mostly on my Ipad.

Netgallery Books
I am staying away from Netgallery for the meantime because I have about 5 books that are from the wonderful site but either A) I haven't read the book or B) I haven't written the review. I am trying my best to get these books read.
Some books are released in August so I will put my focused on reading or reviewing perhaps both for theirs August release.
I am putting the ones that have already been released on hold until I actually have time to read them, but they will not be read without a review.

Book Blog Tours
On the other hands, I am doing two book blog tours in the month of August and September
One I am SO HAPPY to be a part of because I just love her as an Author and as a friend,
Steel Lily By Megan Curd released date is August 20th and I have to do either A)Author Review B)Guest Post or C)Characters Interview. But I still have to finished reading the darn book . . . it's really good but my eyes are not wanting to read as quickly as I would like them to.  So I have a lot to do in preparation of Steel Lily Book Blog Tour.

Then the other tour I'll be on is Divided Worlds Book Tour, I am only reviewing book #1 because I haven't read the series yet. This tour is for the third book that is being released, what nice about this tour is that they schedule people to read either Book 1, Book 2, or Book 3 and among other things.
I am still waiting for my review copy and my review won't be live until the 6th of September so I have a while to go but I will be starting school at the end of August.

Stacking the Shelf
I have gotten The Clockwork Princess By Cassandra Clare and False Memory by Dan Krokos just a few days ago. Because Dan's second book of his series is under my netgallery books I had to go and buy the first book and read that first before jumping into book two. The book itself sound interesting so I can't wait to read it.

Currently Reading: On the Ipad

So I have dedicated myself to my Ipad, there are about a dozen books that need to be read. So here's the Current Read

Sun Poisoned (Sunshine #2) by Nikki Rae
Sophie’s life has changed. She’s moved to New York, she’s playing music for new people, and she’s making new friends. Then there’s Myles, and the fact that he is now her boyfriend—and everyone knows it. There are a lot of new things to take in, but Sophie has no problem adjusting.

She’s not exactly normal, living in a half-human, half-vampire world, but she’s finally, truly happy. But some parts of Sophie and Myles’ old life still hide in the dark, waiting for the right opportunity to strike.

Sophie’s having nightmares again, but they aren’t about her; Myles is hiding something that she’s not sure she wants to know.

And one lie will change everything.

No matter how hard she tries to cover up the marks her monsters have left behind, they never truly go away, and Myles’ monsters are no different.

Once again, Sophie’s caught between life and death, but this time, only she can save herself

Steel Lily (The Periodic Series #1) by Megan Curd

AVERY PIKE is a commodity. No, more than a commodity. Her existence is guarded at all costs.

She’s a water Elementalist, the strongest of her dwindling kind. She creates steam to provide energy to fuel Dome Three: the only thing standing between humanity and an earth ravaged by World War III. No steam, no Dome. No Dome, no life.

Or so she thinks.

That is, until a mysterious man offers her a way out of having to donate steam. A way to escape the corrupt government of Dome Three. While the offer seems too good to be true, Avery is intrigued.

But when she arrives to her new home, she realizes the grass isn’t any less dead on this side of the fence. Instead, the lies are just hidden better.

…Which means digging deeper.

When Avery enlists the help of her friends to uncover the truth, it may make her wonder if she was better off being a government tool than searching for freedom.

Some secrets are better left concealed, but humankind was never meant to live in a cage. And when you can control the most sought after resource, you can learn to control anything…including the fate of your world

Werewolves Be Damned (magic and Mayhem #1) By Stacey Kennedy

Werewolves Be Damned (Magic & Mayhem, #1)Book Description
Nexi Jones—part witch, part guardian, and wannabe kick-ass warrior—can’t throw a punch or conjure the simplest magic. But that doesn’t stop her from hunting the werewolves who slaughtered her human family. She’ll have her revenge, but only if Kyden, the elite guardian, would get the hell out of her way.

Kyden can’t decide if Nexi wants to get herself killed or if she just has no clue what she’s doing. But her father made it clear: keep Nexi safe…or else. Of course, the more Nexi runs toward revenge, the more she needs Kyden’s aid, and as she grows into her power and confidence, so does his desire to protect her. The only problem? She’d rather he dropped dead.

But when a vampire paints a bull’s-eye on Nexi’s back, she’s hard-pressed to deny Kyden and the help he’s offering. Even if it means getting her revenge will be a little bit harder. At least it will still be as sweet.

This story was previously published elsewhere under the title The Willow in 2010, and has been revised and expanded for Entangled Publishing.

This has been on my Ipad for a month or so and I still haven't read it yet and I've heard so much about it so it is still under my Currently reading on GR although I haven't really flipped the pages yet.

Now here's the other thing, my goal is to have read all of these books before my trip at the end of June, but based on my schedule I'm hoping to get at least two out of four done. Two are for blog tours so I have to read them no matter what and review them. The others are as I go along with the two I have to focus on so wish me luck. Oh did I mention I am going to be crazy busy these next two weeks?

Since I won't be posting as much as I would like too because of my traveling preparation and other life stuff, the only things so far I have plan on posting are the blog tour posts. If I can I might be able to add something else but for right now just expect those post from me.

Currently Reading

It's been awhile since I'd posted a Current read, sorry about that but trust me I have been reading books

Some are re-reads for reviews some are books that need reviews for its upcoming release. So as you can see I'm pretty busy reading books while I'm still reviewing some other books I've read.

So here's a few that are on my current reads

Into The Fire By Amanda Usen

Jackson Calabrese has a lot of nerve. He beat Lila Grant in the Culinary Academy competition using her recipes. Now, he’s opening a restaurant and wants her help? Fine, she'll fix his menu, but it's going to cost him.

The restaurant opening approaches, the menu is completed, and the tables are set for one final act of betrayal. How can love bloom in the midst of such a hot mess?

I'm reading this book for a review and hopefully participate for the blog tour. I finished reading it the other night but now I have to skim through it agian for the review aspect. But I can say I did enjoy this book, do you have a taste for hunger?

I got this as a early copy of the book because I participated in the cover reveal, but I haven't had the time to read it. So I've add it to current read since it long overdue. The author been getting many reviews and praise on her WBD and I want to share her my thoughts, my review.

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits #2) By Katie McGarry

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. "Dance with me, Beth."

"No." I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again....

"I dare you..."

If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

I've read this book back in April, and now I'm kind of re-reading but I also have to do an Review since it's release date is shortly coming up. Can I remember how this book goes since it been about a month since I've read it?

Currenlty Reading

Fragments (Partials #2) By Dan Well

Fragments (Partials, #2)Kira Walker has found the cure for RM, but the battle for the survival of humans and Partials is just beginning. Kira has left East Meadow in a desperate search for clues to who she is. That the Partials themselves hold the cure for RM in their blood cannot be a coincidence--it must be part of a larger plan, a plan that involves Kira, a plan that could save both races. Her companions are Afa Demoux, an unhinged drifter and former employee of ParaGen, and Samm and Heron, the Partials who betrayed her and saved her life, the only ones who know her secret. But can she trust them?

Meanwhile, back on Long Island, what's left of humanity is gearing up for war with the Partials, and Marcus knows his only hope is to delay them until Kira returns. But Kira's journey will take her deep into the overgrown wasteland of postapocalyptic America, and Kira and Marcus both will discover that their greatest enemy may be one they didn't even know existed.

The second installment in the pulse-pounding Partials saga is the story of the eleventh hour of humanity's time on Earth, a journey deep into places unknown to discover the means--and even more important, a reason--for our survival.

Book Trailers for Fragments (Book Two) Sorry that it's a link to the video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XvuIHzyvfA

Because I am behind on reviewing three books I am holding off on Fragments until the reviews are completed and scheduled. I can't say much about what I think of Fragments so far because of my little lateness.

But here some info on Book One: PARTIALS

Partials (Partials, #1)Book Description
The human race is all but extinct after a war with Partials--engineered organic beings identical to humans--has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by RM, a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island while the Partials have mysteriously retreated. The threat of the Partials is still imminent, but, worse, no baby has been born immune to RM in more than a decade. Our time is running out.

Kira, a sixteen-year-old medic-in-training, is on the front lines of this battle, seeing RM ravage the community while mandatory pregnancy laws have pushed what's left of humanity to the brink of civil war, and she's not content to stand by and watch. But as she makes a desperate decision to save the last of her race, she will find that the survival of humans and Partials alike rests in her attempts to uncover the connections between them--connections that humanity has forgotten, or perhaps never even knew were there.

Dan Wells, acclaimed author of I Am Not a Serial Killer, takes readers on a pulsepounding journey into a world where the very concept of what it means to be human is in question--one where our humanity is both our greatest liability and our only hope for survival.

Divergent (Divergent #1) By Veronica Roth

Divergent (Divergent, #1)Goodreads Description

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

This book was released in Hardcover and Ebook formats May 3rd, 2011. Then was released in paperbacks on February 28th, 2012. Published by Katherine Tegen Books, Number of pages 487 with both formats. The Paperback format has bonus materials.

This Book was voted on Goodread Choice Award for "Favorite Book" . . . and soon a movie

So I'd finally picked up this book after having purchase it last summer, and said "Let's read this book NOW!" Now I've heard this book is the next best thing to read after the Hunger Games, however I did not show interest in reading it.

Yes I went to the movie, sure it was okay but I just can't fathom how that is okay for young teen to read? Movies also applies. ANYWAYS I'm not going to rant on my POV on the Hunger Games.

Divergent . . . What do I think so far?
Well I like the Chicago area idea, considering I've been to Chicago once and love what I saw of it. But also Veronica Roth lives in Chicago so she got some of her ideas from home-based.

Factions? Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, Erudite . . . How do you choose?
From my understanding of it is that you are put through a aptitude test that matches you up with the best consideration of Factions that you could choose to join.

Now the main character Beatrice or "Tris" she neither pass/fail the test . . . her result was inconclusive which is what they refers to her as DIVERGENT. But Beatrice was told to not say anything to anyone about her results.

Abnegation (the selfless)
Amity (the peaceful)
Candor (the honest)
Dauntless (the brave)
Erudite (the intelligent)

So now the choosing factions ceremony, Tris decided to go to the Dauntless Faction, however she question herself did she make the right choice? As every transfers and Dauntless-born are put through series of tests. Tris meets a few people along the way.

The Dauntless Initiates
Christina (Candor)
Will (Erudite)
Al (Dauntless)
Peter (Candor)
Molly (Condor)
Drew (Candor)
Uriah (Dauntless)

Tris begins to get along with Christina, Will and Al but the rest all see her as weak and "Stiff" because of where she's from. Tris doesn't do much to try and prove herself or draw attention but no matter what she does, she is somehow always noticed.  The instructors Eric and Four are overseeing who has what it take to be a Dauntless but there is tension between the two from their own initiate where Four was rank #1 and Eric was #2.

Characters Thoughts?
Aside from the weird names, they each are different and you can tell what their personality is but also how each have their own strength and weaknesses.
Beatrice "Tris" started off venerable but now after she been through a lot of downs rather than ups, she finds an inner strength within her.

But what she also does is find out that she is not the only "DIVERGENT" around. She also finds friendship among Will and Christina but also her instructor Four who seem to taken in interest in her because I'm sure he suspects something unusual about Tris.

There weren't many characters that you needed to keep an eye on because they didn't make the cut of being a Dauntless, but Al who had confined with Tris during multiple training sessions all the sudden turns against her.

I'm about 80% done with Divergent although I swear I just started this book Monday or Tuesday. But I guess that what happen when you read TOO MANY chapters at night. My review of the book won't be posted until sometime late next week as I take about a week to write an review.

Currently Reading: Kitty Norville Style

This week I am reading Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Norville series, now I've started reading this series back in May of 2012 and I have to say first book is great but then somehow second book just doesn't fit the bill. But then the third it like "I can't put it down!" and then it time for a change.

So now I'm finally on Book Five of Kitty Norville "Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand" . . . .

How the last book ended with an proposal and now this book is about eloping but for Kitty, just doing something normal for once always involves with something supernatural and a job.

Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand

Kitty and the Dead Man's Hand (Kitty Norville, #5)
HONEYMOON IN VEGAS?

Already the alpha pair of Denver's werewolf pack, Kitty and Ben now plan to tie the knot human-style by eloping to Vegas. Kitty is looking forward to sipping fru-fru drinks by the pool and doing her popular radio show on live TV, but her hotel is stocked with werewolf-hating bounty hunters. Elsewhere on the Strip an old-school magician might be wielding the real thing; the vampire community is harboring a dark secret; and the irresistible star of a suspicious animal act is determined to seduce Kitty. Sin City has never been so wild, and this werewolf has never had to fight harder to save not only her wedding, but her very life

I started reading this book last night and already am in love with how the pace of the read is, I'm curious who's going to be the villain and will Kitty pulled through and get married?

So far Kitty and Ben have been trying very hard on how to plan the wedding but instead Kitty thought why not elope? I mean that is totally her style! But then with Kitty's radio talk show her boss suggested why not do a live televise show while she's in Las Vegas?

Um yeah hello I was going to Vegas to get married . . . not to work but she can't really complain since everything is paid for when she does work travels. Ben wasn't too happy to hear that Kitty was going to be working but he made her agree to not nag on him while he gamble in the casino while she works.

But the hotel that Kitty doing her live televise show? They are also hosting a gun show the same weekend and that makes her very uncomfortable considering all things that happen in Washington and Silver Bullets are not her friend.

So what will happen next as I continue to read it? I have no idea but something tells me trouble isn't very far away and Ben just might not be around to help her out . . .

Don't Let it End! Currently Reading

This is a very sad time for me . . . I am reading the final book of an amazing series. It's one that I've gasped, scream, cried and the ooh ahhs.

I've been a huge fan of this author by all of her series that she's written and anxiously waiting for what her new projects are about. Rachel Vincent is her name and she's an amazing author for both Young adult and Adult Fiction.

Now what is this book I'm talking about? It's the Soul Screamers series, it consist of seven books and three novellas. Before I Wake has a super short story called "A Day in the Afterlife of Tod". This is her longest series she ever wrote dated back in 2009 when My Soul to Take was released.

Rachel has a theme for her Soul Screamers books based on the seven deadly sins, My Soul To Take’s theme was vanity. My Soul To Save was greed, My Soul To Keep was gluttony (addiction), My Soul To Steal was envy, and If I Die was lust and Before I Wake was Sloth. Now With All My Soul it's WAR.

OK I've yapped on the series and the author (Bio is at the end of the post), now what is WAMS?

With All My Soul (Soul Screamers, #7)With All My Soul

What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt...
After not really surviving her junior year (does "undead" count as survival?), Kaylee Cavanaugh has vowed to take back her school from the hellions causing all the trouble. She's going to find a way to turn the incarnations of Avarice, Envy and Vanity against one another in order to protect her friends and finish this war, once and forever.
But then she meets Wrath and understands that she's closer to the edge than she's ever been. And when one more person close to her is taken, Kaylee realizes she can't save everyone she loves without risking everything she has....

So I will be spending the rest of today and tomorrow reading this book and then probably read it again and review it for myself and my bloggers friends/followers. As well for Fiktshun's Soul Screamers mini-challenge.

I can't wait to see what happen, does Kaylee get a happy ending? I will be writing the most important review of my life just because this is the final book and I'm not going to write it lightly.  Happy reading to me and FYI doesn't the gold just suit Kaylee?

"This is the future, and humanity is all but extinct"

Any guess on what I am currently reading? How about another hint . . . The Movie comes out March 29th, 2013.
Still guessing? Well then how about this . . . This is the Author of the Twilight Saga.

There you go! *Applauses* Yes! It's Stephenie Meyer's Science Fiction/Romance/Young Adult Novel

"The Host"

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Earth has been invaded by a species that takes over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.

Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

Featuring what may be the first love triangle involving only two bodies, The Host is a riveting and unforgettable novel that will bring a vast new readership to one of the most compelling writers of our time.

Yes I know the book been out since 2008 and I'd probably haven't purchased the book til sometimes in 2009. I am a huge fan of her Twilight series and was pleased with the movies as well, but WHY did I wait so long to read Meyer's other book?

Well the fact is I had other books to read and I don't normally read Science Fiction books because I get confused then the book isn't an enjoyment for me. I made a promise to my best friend that I would read the book before we go see the movie, so that is what I'm doing.
Only 36 days till the movie comes out and I hope that the movie is just as good as the book, I strongly believe right now that they picked a good cast with Saoirse Ronan playing Melanie and Wanda, Max Irons portraying Jared Howe and Jake Abel portraying Ian O'Shea.

Ramble Phase:
I'm sure many were confused in the first couple chapters and I was too, but then I started getting into the groove of the story.
Wanda and Melanie have to work together as one to find the Human resistance, however Melanie would never help an Alien that took over her body and mind. But Melanie's feelings, emotion and memories grows on Wanda whome she begin to feel like human does. Now in the middle of Nowhere Wanda/Melanie come face with the human resistance and old friends, taken to a secret location and just about everyone wants nothing to do with Wanda/Melanie except to kill. Yeah that really didn't work out as plan and I didn't expect it to because if it did then there wouldn't be a story or the love story.
Jared Howe found the love of his life Melanie until he sees that a Alien or "Soul" has taken over her body. Confused and irrational, Jared didn't know how to response . . . he know that he should end the toture now by killing her but something inside him tells him not to.
Then we meet . . .
Ian O'Shea who seems to be on the wrong kind of right, he knows not to trust Wanda or the "Soul" but the more he watch her and interact with her, he sees what most don't see. Wanda develop human-like persoanlities and is unlike the others.
That is all I can say because I'm just half way there . . . I have to say I like this book better than Meyer's Twilight Saga, I find it better written and more thought out. She created a dynamic that is unusual and she created a world where I think is plausiable. Yes I did say "Plausiable" because there could be others out there, there some proof or "rumored" proofs but it could happen.

Here's the Movie Trailer:
