Book Review: Wages of Sin

Wages of Sin (Las Vegas Syndicate #2) by Michelle St. James

Max Cartwright finally realized he was in love with his best friend — and now she’s gone.Devastated over Abby’s flight from Vegas, Max nurses his loss at Jason Draper’s casino, desperate for another opportunity to take down the man who came between him and Abby. At first it’s a way to forget, but when his hours at the roulette table reveal a new connection between Jason and DeLuca, Max sees a way to disrupt their partnership for good.

And all it will require is a high-stakes heist.

Abby Sterling should have known it was too good to be true.

Hiding out on a beach in Mexico, she replays everything that happened between her and Max, searching for a clue that he wasn’t the man she believed him to be. Than Angel Vitale appears, telling Abby she was manipulated by Jason. Max was one of the good guys all along — and now he’s in trouble.

Back in Max’s arms, Abby is determined to help bring down Jason, the man she thought was her friend and mentor. Doing so means resuming her job at the Tangier and feeding information to the Syndicate, not to mention dodging the deadly mercenary Jason has hired to protect him.

When Max makes good on the plan to steal the money being laundered at the casino, old loyalties are pitted against new alliances. Now Max is forced into a confrontation with Jason and DeLuca — and Abby isn’t as safe as she seems.

We're back!

Things get heated up in Wages of Sin, Max struggles with trying to locate Abby so he drowns himself in gambling and drinking.

Abby isn't sure who to believe, but she know in her heart that she loves Max.

Both Max and Abby are empty without each other, luckily they both learned to trust each other.

For Wages of Sin, the danger is just starting and Jason Draper is no longer going down easy.

I enjoyed Wages of Sin and I can't wait to read the next book to see where everything takes Max and Abby. Along with the other Mob Bosses, will Max take on the role of running Las Vegas?

Book Review: King of Sin

King of Sin (Las Vegas Syndicate #1) by Michelle St. James

Maxwell Cartwright just wants to have fun.

At least that’s what he tells himself as he works his way through every showgirl and high roller room in Vegas, burning through his trust fund and trying to forget the betrayal of his old friend Jason Draper.

Then Nico Vitale, head of the Syndicate, mentions the one thing that might prompt Max to action.
Max's best friend, Abby, may be in grave danger.

Abby Sterling is finally in control.

Breaking free of an abusive father wasn’t easy, but hard work, a college degree, and a job in the executive offices of her childhood friend Jason Draper’s casino has her feeling like she’s free of the past.

But maintaining her friendship with both Max and Jason isn’t easy when the two men won’t even speak to each other, and things get even more complicated when Abby’s relationship with Max heats up in surprising ways.

As Max’s ties to the Syndicate deepen, he crosses his long held line with Abby, taking her to bed in spite of his promise never to risk their friendship.

Now Max is in over his head, with the Syndicate, Jason Draper, and the woman he’s loved his entire life. The only way out is to infiltrate Jason Draper’s DarkNet poker game — and save Abby from becoming collateral damage.

Meow . . . Meow . . . Meow
In a new series set in the Mob boss world, but now Las Vegas bound. The city that never sleeps, gambling is the only way to win and sex is always a bonus.

For Max, he's got the playboy attitude. But that is just the surface of Max Cartwright, underneath that he's fighting an internal battle.

Abby rise above all the hardship and she's got a fairly decent life that she made for herself. But something is missing in her life.

What we see in King of Sin is the Syndicate trying to rebuild the world, tear down the corrupted world. They need Max because only he can bring down the corrupted.

And protect Abby Sterling.

This is a great start for a new series, I enjoy every part of the story and I love the best friends triangle.

That ending was a big big cliff hanger, darn you Michelle!

Book Review: Wild Card

Wild Card (Wildcats #3) by Rachel Vincent

Wild Card (Wildcats, #3)
Kaci Dillon is a man-eater.

She’s grown up on the fringes of shifter society, hearing the whispers. One desperate act as a starving, terrified child has made her the first tabby in history with no romantic prospects. But whatever. Eighteen is too young to get married anyway. Still, when she stumbles upon an opportunity to get away for a few days, who could blame her for seizing it?

Justus Alexander is screwed.

Confined to the South-Central territory, awaiting trial for crimes he committed as a traumatized, newly infected stray, Justus has discovered that the tribunal already intends to vote for the death penalty. He has no choice but to run. Too young to touch the trust fund that could finance his escape, he’s betting on a big win at the poker tables—until Kaci, his secret crush, catches him sneaking out and demands that he take her with him to Las Vegas

After a wild night she can’t remember, Kaci wakes up with a ring on her finger, next to a young billionaire who can’t access his fortune until he turns twenty-five—or ties the knot. If she can keep her hands off her hot, charismatic new groom, she can have their unconsummated marriage annulled. But can she really abandon Justus to his death sentence, just to undo her own mistake?

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW

We aren't too far from where Blind Tiger ended, and we are now focus on the not so young anymore Kaci Dillion. The Kaci we knew was a fearful young werecat, born with two recessive werecat gene that triggered her shift.

Now Kaci is a teen, with much to learn. But she has no doubt that being married young was not on her radar, until she wakes up with a ring on her finger to a man that is about to stand on trial.

Justus was infected by a werecat with the intent on framing Titus (his older brother) for the crimes, but Justus's actions still lead to large consequences. So he's running away but then Kaci convinces him that there's a chance to clear his name.

Throughout this book, Kaci has taken her knowledge of growing up in the Lazy S ranch and convince a few alphas that Justus deserve a fairer trial despite their bylaws.

We do see Faythe and Marc taking an very parental side when it comes to Kaci, but they do know that she's growing up and they're learning to accept that as well as this sudden marriage.

The Tribunal are face with changes, some are agreeing to the new changes while some are still set in the old ways. We learned so much about the Tribunal in this book similar to following Faythe's journey, but again we see changes happen.

This book was fill with all sort of elements that I enjoy.

As always I love Rachel's books and I'm so glad she's is getting back into the werecats world again, I have no idea who she should write next but I want more!

Book Review: Through the fire

Through the fire (New York Syndicate #3) by Michelle St. James

Through the Fire (New York Syndicate Book 3)*** The final book in the New York Syndicate series featuring Damian and Aria ***Damian Cavallo finally has the love of his life back in his arms after a very close call. There’s only one problem; their enemies are still at large — and they’re wreaking havoc on New York.

Forced to enlist the assistance of a rebellious Syndicate ally, Damian finds himself back in Greece, this time to hunt Stefano Anastos. But when Aria insists on playing a part, Damian must find a way to balance his desire to protect her against her fiery will.

Aria Fiore has a secret — one she doesn’t dare share with Damian until their opponents are vanquished. Determined to fight alongside Damian for their future, she holds the secret close, knowing he would never allow her to be in harm’s way if he knew.

When they find out where their final enemy is hiding, Aria is more determined than ever to eliminate him — even if it means putting her future with Damian at risk. Their mission takes them to an exotic country, pitting them against the one man who has cost Aria everything — and forcing her to prove that love conquers all.

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW

Wow . . . I can't believe how much has change since the last book. Damian has Aria back after a close call. Now that everything has settle, both Damian and Aria are focus on finding Malcolm Gatti, but he went into hiding.

Aria is also hiding something . . . something so important to Damian, but she doesn't want to be locked up. Damian been working hard on hunting down Gatti, but at the same time making sure that Aria is safe.

There were pieces of the story I enjoyed. There were parts that many are saying predicable, but I don't focus too much on the predictability. There may have been more I wanted between Malcolm, Damian and Aria.

But overall this book did not disappoint me by any means. Plus that surprise ending!!!

I can't wait to read more of this world by Michelle and I can't wait to read Eternal love.

Book Review: Fire with Fire

Fire with Fire (New York Syndicate Book 1)

Fire with Fire (New York Syndicate Book 1)

Love is a battlefield — and only the strong survive.

Shunning his Ivy League education and the empire that was his birthright, Damian Cavallo found his place in New York City’s criminal underworld after the fall of the Syndicate. Reclusive and angry, he works alone — until crime lord Nico Vitale makes a compelling argument for the new organization’s far-reaching power. After hearing Nico out, Damian is willing to consider the possibility of leading the New York territory.

There’s just one problem: he isn’t the only one who wants it.

Aria Fiore didn’t choose a life of crime — it chose her.

Raised by her dangerously unbalanced brother, Primo, after the death of their parents, Aria had no choice but to follow him into a life of crime. She finds happiness working in the city’s community garden but can’t help wondering if she’ll ever get the chance to choose something for herself. Then Damian Cavallo appears — hot, brooding, and demanding Primo forfeit the New York territory. Aria has no love for the business, but even the gorgeous criminal can’t shake her loyalty to her brother.

As the rivalry becomes more and more deadly, Primo’s first in command is only too happy to goad him into reckless action. Desperate to save her brother, Aria forges an alliance with Damian that quickly turns into an undeniable passion. Now she’s forced to admit the truth:

She is in love with Damian Cavallo — and her real enemy is much closer to home.

MEOW . . .  MEOW . . . MEOW
The syndicate of New York has fallen . . . but the criminal world has gone out of control and its time for stability. Damian Cavallo didn't want to be involved with the syndicate, but two things happens. One he's the guy to do it and two there's Aria Fiore.

Aria hadn't want to know the deep dark things her brother is into, but she knows that he has his string pull by someone far more dangerous. When Aria meet Damian Cavallo, she is instantly drawn to him but she won't admit it until he became her savior.

The story of Aria and Damian is different from all the other Mob Boss stories, Damian wasn't about to let a women distract him but Aria Fiore was someone he needed. To cherish, to love and protect.

Together Aria and Damian walks a dangerous line . . .

I can't wait to see what happens next after that huge cliff hanger!!! Plus to hear all the places they will go.

I give this five Cat Paws. I love Michelle's writing and her characters, this story certainly has a different pace than the other mob bosses.

Review: Edge of Regret

Edge of Regret( Love on the Edge #7) by Molly E. Lee

Edge of Regret (Love on the Edge #7)

Leading man on the new E.D.G.E. series reality show? Check.

Stunt-double for the star in the latest, multi-million-dollar funded military movie? Check.

Work with a sexy female military expert? Holy hell, check.

When I signed on to do stunts for Hollywood’s eagerly awaited war-thriller, I thought it would be like every other gig—go in, try not to get killed, and leave with a fat check and an adrenaline rush. This time? Not so much.

Mackenzie Patterson is the on-set expert. She knows topographical layouts, government lingo, speaks four languages, and is one of the best explosive disposal leaders the Air Force has ever seen, so she’s more than qualified.

She’s also the woman who turned my teenage heart to ash.

I can’t ignore the darkness that has appeared in her eyes, or the urge I have to take it away.

Quitting isn’t an option, but the more I see her, the more I want to make her mine. And that can never happen because our past is twisted with heartbreak, hate, and regret.

Every second I spend with her is a battle between holding on to the anger in my heart—and giving in to the love that never left.
Published (first published June 20th 2017)

MEOW . . .  MEOW . . . MEOW

Edge of Regret is a powerful love story that got my heart racing. Reading Wade and Mackenzie's story is like none others from Molly usually writing. At first I thought we were diving into an High school sweetheart romance, but then it was just the beginning of where Wade and Mackenzie started and the shattered hearts begins.

Fast forward to 10 years, Wade is the thrill rider, risk your life stunt man. Mackenzie joined the Air Force, became the best expert on the job until tragedy happens. Now Mackenzie is force to take time off but meanwhile jumped onto a movie project.

Neither one of them expected to run into each other again, not after what happens the last time they came across one another. Both of them live in regret, Mackenzie more so than Wade, however when Wade realizes just how much Mackenzie needed him to pick up the pieces and hold her together. He was right there.

For Edge of Regret deals with choosing a path, making a decision not based on your heart but your head.

I give this Five Cat Paws; I adore Molly's writing and this one stood out from all her other Love on the Edge characters. Edge of Regret is about finally following your heart and not your head, taking care of the one life you have and spending it with the love of your life.

A Witches of BlackBrook novel

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW
I was SO SO excited that TIsh went on to write another book! I have always felt that the Witches of Blackbrook's journey was not over yet. The Sisters have finally been reunited but now there's something that is unbalance. The magic is disrupted.

The sisters have finally and truly found each other after years and time have passed. They thought they defeated the great evil but now things from their past lives are starting to turn up. I LOVE what Tish did by bringing in a little ancestry to this book, it seems that everyone nowadays are searching their ancestors (Believe I am one of them). It was neat to see who the sisters were in the past when they were apart, to see what kind of life they each lived. They almost basically have the 9 Live of Cat years.

But I guess now from this book, we're heavily focused on Trin only because of how the first book was laid out. If you haven't read the first book, then you probably shouldn't be reading this review.

This time we're focusing on seeing these sisters try to reform their bond, after so many life years apart. It's clear that it's a learning curve until Trin's premonition grows darks, heeding a warning. The warnings of the past, including the great evil.

They learn that the evil is seeking a way to obtain it's magic again but also try to banish the sisters' magic. How to do that? Go back in time.

But going back in time, reveals secrets and reveals loop holes that could change everything in the present. Can Trin, Caris and Kennedy save their pasts or will the pasts get to them?

I give this 5 Cat Paws, Truly this was an amazing book, I am thrilled that this book came out and that I had the chance to read it. I can't wait for the next book.

"Through space and time, sisters entwined. Lost then found, souls remain bound."

Book Review: Edge of Bliss

Edge of Bliss (Love on the Edge #4) By Molly E. Lee

Edge of Bliss (Love on the Edge #4)

I never knew how perfect life could be until Blake Caster was finally mine.

Chasing storms with her only doubles the passion and the rush, but as we travel down tornado alley at the start of the season, we run into more than our fair share of nonweather-related trouble.

My past on the alley catches up to me in a bad way and with each captured storm, a wedge is driven between us. The harder I try to hold on to Blake, the faster she is slipping away.

Add to that an unexpected call from her ex, new pressures from the reality show filming our every move, and a job offer Blake may not be able to pass up, and my perfect life is on the same chaotic path as the storms we chase.

All I want to do is make her mine—forever—but one trip down tornado alley might be our last.

Expected publication: December 14th 2016

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW
Okay honestly I love Dash and Blake together, even the first book on them had this fire you couldn't burn out. Molly brought that again, with this book but now we're seeing Blake and Dash on Tornado Alley.

This book possess some inner thoughts of how both Blake and Dash feels towards one another, while Dash has some BIG PLANS. Blake still can't believe that Dash is all her and she is all his, but the abusive relationship she had with Justin certainly does give some weight on her shoulders.

However Dash's previous single life has come into light, and while he wasn't the type to sleep around, he certinaly was the guy that everyone wanted. Blake starts to feel insecure but Dash always reminds her that he doesn't want anyone but her.

While Blake is still having self-doubt about herself, I think it's natural for her to feel that after the toxic relationship she had for several years. As far for Dash, his big plans seems to derails but while it kept being derails, he finds that being on Tornado Alley he had hoped that it would be a good run.

The network wants up close and personal dangerous stuff, but they would take the romance between Blake and Dash anytime over watching a howling, twirling black form but Dash knows that he wants to make sure that it's the team's spotlight and not his relationship with Blake.

Their relationship are put to the test, whether it's on Tornado Alley, or something back home. In the end they make their biggest decisions EVER.

I give this five Cat Paws, this book certainly deliver where and how things are going with Blake and Dash. I must say things are going very well. Now my only question lingers "Will we ever seen Blake and Dash again?"

Book Review: Disruption

Disruption (Disruption #1) by Jessica Shirvington

Disruption (Disruption, #1)
The heart-stopping first chapter in bestselling author Jessica Shirvington's Disruption series.

Paperback, 416 pages
Expected publication: October 4th 2016 by HarperCollins (first published April 1st 2014)
MEOW . . . MEOW . . .MEOW
In a world where your perfect match is found through a microchip, but for Maggie her perfect match is specialty engineered in order to get into the heart of the Mercer Corporation in search of her father.

What's interesting about Maggie as a character that she willing to risk everything just to find her father, but when loose pieces are involved she finds it harder to be reckless not that it's had stop her before.

While the pace of the book was gradual, I liked it. There were moments that I liked when Maggie started showing more of an interest into Quentin because she needs him just like he does. But Quentin's reasons were much more greater because he stands to lose almost everything he knows until the truth was finally revealed.

I have to be honest when the ending came through, I was shocked I did not expect to see that happen even more so when Maggie starts losing everything too.

Now there was clearly no romance between Quentin and Maggie, it was slow and just kind of a spur of a moment kind of thing. But still no fireworks. But in the end it's seem that Maggie is starting to see beyond her mind it was a little too late but Quentin made it very apparent that he had started to have feelings for her.

When Maggie was in the Mercer Household, I have to say that she was playing in the lion's den and that is a very dangerous situation in itself. In the end of the book it had clearly showed that nothing goes undetected but now where does Maggie's plan go from here?

I love the idea from many years ago when I learned about this book and I still love the idea even years later and finally getting a chance to read it.

I give this an 4 Cat Paws UP, that ending was pretty intense and shocking it was probably one of the best cliff hanger I've read so far. I can't wait to see what happen in the second book.

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW
Trial of dreams picks up right where it ended, there's another riddle to solve, another hunt. Both Vander and Julia are running out of time.

Honestly, I didn't feel that there was much excitement like the first book, plus to include all of the secondary characters made it really hard to determine what was their purpose for the hunt that both Vander and Julia has.

I kind of had a sense that Julia's mom knew more than she was letting on, but it wasn't until mid-way through the book that it was revealed that she did in fact knew a few things or two.

The whole journey in this book was slow unfortunately, I didn't feel that there was much ties with how the first book went. There were challenges that both Julia and Vander went through, but only to get more riddles.

I don't want to give this book a bad review because I think part of it is ME as a reader.

I'm giving this Four Cat Paws, it's not that I didn't hate it, I just felt that there were some actions missing to make this second book great.

Book Review: Depths of Salvation

Depths of Salvation (Love on the edge #3) by Molly E. Lee

Depths of SalvationSadie Jenkins’ most recent site of preservation is a sunken WWII cargo ship off the coast of the Bahamas. When a giant corporation threatens to blow it up to make way for an underwater gas pipeline, Sadie is forced to prove to the Head of Government the importance and value of her site. And when assistance comes from a bad-boy welder who works for the corporation, she ends up battling not only the people trying to demolish her site, but her heart as well—because its latched on to the one man who can save her ship or destroy it.

Connell Murphey is the best underwater welder this side of the Atlantic and thrives when the stakes are highest. When Slade Industries offers him a dangerous gig with a big pay off, he can’t wait to sign on. When a local marine preservationist gives Slade trouble—her site’s protection would cost him millions to go around it instead of through it—Slade offers Connell the deal of a lifetime: twelve million has his name on it if he gets close to Sadie and testifies to the Head of Government that her site isn’t worth saving. Should be easy money.

That is, until he meets Sadie. She’s a force to be reckoned with and the only woman who has ever been able to not only keep pace with him on a dive but completely surpass him on every level. She’s smart, sexy, and their chemistry is off the charts. The more he gets to know her, the harder he falls but he’s already in too deep with the deal he made with Slade.

When the time comes, will he be able to turn down the money and choose the girl of his dreams, or will too many lies kill his only chance at forever?

Expected publication: September 26th 2016

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW
Depths of Salvation is the third book of Love on the Edge, out of all the books Molly wrote for this series this one certainly lives up to it's name.

Sadie is an marine preservation that is desperate in saving an sunken ship with an marine life that could have a great impact on the ecosystem. But with an company putting in oil lines, they want to explode through her site without a care in the world.

Now Sadie's site is in danger and possibly slipping away.

Connell is one of the best diver welder there is, but he's about to get the pay of a lifetime although something is missing from his life. When his boss tells him to oversee Sadie's site and find any ways to diminish it but he soon find fascination in her and the purpose of her site.

Throughout the book, things get heated and light. I enjoyed what both Sadie and Connell become in the book although towards the end things get tough and I almost thought there was an end to Sadie and Connell before it began.

Molly has a way with that . . .

I can't wait to hear where Connell and Sadie are now, if Molly does write another book on them or a novella.

I give this 5 Cat Paws Up, this book really puts the definition of this series. Love on the Edge.

MEOW . . .  MEOW . . .MEOW

I received a copy of this book by the publisher after they asks me if I wanted to read this book because I had read the first book.

It's been awhile since I've read vivi's first book Olivia Twisted, so I needed to brush up on the first book & read my review as well others. Diving into the second book, it started out with this dark and creepy admirer.

Soon Olivia starts to realizes that this admirer wasn't someone from her new life, but from her old life. Although she has trouble letting go of her old life and Jack, but when she starts getting random roses and extravagant gifts. She starts to wonder who is sending this and what their message?

When I finally got to see how much Jack been trying to move on but he often thinks of Olivia, I know he can't seem to leave behind what they had. When Olivia reaches out to Jack to ask if he's been sending gifts, he denies it.

But things back at home (the new home) financials are getting hacked, and it's happening under the household. The atmosphere grows tense, with a houseful of hackers everyone is watching their back. Except for Jack only because he's trying to find that hacker and instead gets himself hacked.

I was surprised on who was behind the whole charades, but then I felt sad for the person that was forced to be involved with the person behind it because they got themselves into something that they might not have been able to back out of . . . IN which they didn't.

I give this an 4.5 Cat Paws, I like the darker effect of the secret admire but I was thoroughly missing more romance between Jack and Olivia.

Will this leave for potential future books?

Book Review: Supremacy

 Supremacy (Supremacy, #1)

Supremacy (Supremacy #1) by Christin Lee

Meow . . . Meow . . . Meow
Supremacy was an author review request, it was also her first book release as well.

Supremacy is set up where there are two very different worlds and one young girl that may help save both of those worlds before it's too late.

While it took awhile for the book to reach it's point about what the book is really about, but I enjoyed the character interactions. So even though it took awhile, I think the character's stories took care of that big gap.

Lucas has an interesting storyline arc, but it clear that he fell over hard with Kate. However it changed towards the end of the book because of how it was left off. It made me wonder what are his true purposes. Although I know and can tell that he loves and cares for Kate, but will duty take place over love?

Kate is a huge animal lover, she is determine to save any animals from danger or from a harsh world. In the beginning of the book, she's trying to rescue a stray dog that was starving and scared. Major prompts on creating a character that is a animal lover, I don't often see that. There's also something about Kate that makes her special to the book, but that hadn't been clarified to what it is.

I enjoy most of the secondary characters, for them you could tell where they belong and where they fit in the story. Even the characters from Lucas's world were a mixtures of daydreamers and then there were ones that wanted to keep everything the same.

I give this 3.8 Cat Paws, so overall this book has it's potentials, there's parts of the book that need to be strengthen which could occur in the next book.

MY GOD!!! This book is insane!!! Like have everyone lost their marbles????

My heart breaks for Mason and Rose, they are in such a tough spot right now with their relationship and I truly truly hope that they will work things out. But not until Rose is able to cut off all ties with the criminal world and hangs up her role as Lady in Black . . . For good.

Digging into the past of the Simmons household proves to be a tough one, but there's a reason for everything but when J.R. Simmons is involved, nothing ever has a reason and his power in Fenton County puts everyone on high alert.

For Neely Kate, all the hardship she's gone through I can't say I blame her for her decisions, sometimes you have to let go of all the negative things in order to have an positive outlook. I think she gain back pieces of herself as well discover new things about herself as well embrace all that she knows.

Hilary and Kate are two people, you don't want to mess around with. While we knew a lot about Hilary, we almost know nothing about Kate. Kate has her own secret past, one that only her father had made interference in and honestly I didn't think J.R. had really cared about his daughter because he spent so much time trying to keep Joe in order.

Okay I know I haven't been a huge Joe fan lately, but what happens in this book really starts to change my opinion on Joe. WHILE I am not suggesting for a Joe and Rose reunion, I think Joe will need to relies on who he call friends. Trust me he's going to need it.

Skeeter Malcolm; I thought he would stay zipped-tight on what he knows about the Simmons household, but because of Rose's influence on him that he realizes that it's better to have allies you call friends rather that have enemies and be alone. He finds the strength to fight, to go up against the biggest power of all because in the end he has more to lose than JR Simmons does. Even if JR Simmons EGO is the size of a bear.

Also have you or are you a skillet fan? Listen to Skillet new song Invincible because it reminds me so much of Skeeter Malcolm.

There were so many twists and turns in Thirty-Six, more than any other books in the Rose Gardner series. I wish I could say all that I want to say but they all contains spoilers . . .

While the ending kills me for many characters, I can only hope that Family Jewels the first book in the Rose Gardner Investigation will bring some light to the darkness.

This is an PUURRRFECT book; let's just say that you gotta read it.

Book Review: East of Redemption

East of Redemption (Love on the edge #2) By Molly Lee

East of Redemption (Love on the Edge #2)
Easton Wells has spent years burying his guilt by digging up some of the world’s most renowned treasures while surviving the dangerous terrains in which they’re located—all captured for television. When his producers threaten to axe the show, he has no choice but to turn to the last person he still trusts—the girl he left behind.

Rain Walker has made a name for herself documenting wild and endangered animals, and the last voice she expects to hear while shooting in South Africa is Easton’s. He’s more gorgeous than she remembers, but the pain in her heart is as fresh as ever. They’d once planned on spending the rest of their lives together, but after her father’s tragic death while on expedition in Israel with him, Easton bailed on their future together without an explanation. It’s been nine years, and yet the intense love they shared seems only a moment ago.

When he asks her to film his latest treasure hunt, Rain wants to turn him down instantly. But when he explains it’s to the same cave that swallowed her father, she can’t say no. She wants to experience the last place her father was alive, and she’s beyond curious about what happened to the boy she used to love.

They’ve got two weeks to locate a treasure that’s been lost for centuries, or Easton will lose the one thing in his life he’s come to depend on. As their old passion is reignited—and dark secrets uncovered—they face the extreme terrain of the mountain range that threatens them at every turn. As more than the wildlife and sharp drop-offs tries to kill them, Rain starts to question if the legendary treasure they seek—the same one her father had died trying to unearth—is truly meant to be found, or if some things, including their feelings for each other, are better left buried.

Serial Review: Dominating Red

Dominating Red (A Dark and Dirty Tale #2) by Kristin Miller

Dominating Red (A Dark and Dirty Tale #2)In part two of this Dark and Dirty Tale serial from New York Times and USA best-selling author Kristin Miller, Red has two hot alphas in pursuit. But which one should she choose?

Lukas, the Alpha of the Arcana wolf pack, has chosen to seduce me in his private chamber before I join his pack and declare a mate. But Lukas doesn’t intend to rush things. A tantalizing game of cat and mouse uncovers my dark desires, and no matter how I try to resist, I’m lost in him.

Although the sex is so good I forget my own name, I can’t deny there’s still something missing…Reaper, the Omega’s eldest grandson.

He swept me off my feet before meeting Lukas, and I can’t get him out of my mind. And now that Lukas has taken me, Reaper is more protective than ever. I'm torn, but I have to choose—the one who has captured my heart or the one who possesses my body. And there is more than passion at stake—lives hang in the balance.

Get ready for scorching hot Alphas, a spitfire heroine, and a breathless cliffhanger ending.

The Dark and Dirty tale series is best enjoyed in this reading order.

Where we left off was Ivy getting hooded by guards, Reaper sneaks out from Ivy's room just beforehand and Lukas making a decision of which Pre-shifer female wolf  he would like to stake claims on.

It's no secret that Ivy isn't used to having two hot alpha males, but how does she handle the fact that her heart wants both?

For the second "act" we see more of Lukas side, BOY!!! he's got bad boy attitude all over him.  He's also very possessive but what he doesn't like is that he can't claim the pre-shifter of his choice because it has to be her choice. But what really drove him over the edge is that the sweet pre-shifter that he has his eyes on, someone else has eyes for too.

For the most part of second act we see more into Lukas side however I get a sense that he's hiding more than he's sharing to the omega. Reaper is still feeling like he doesn't deserve to have a mate, but he can't deny the instant chemistry he has with IVY and now he has to worry about his cousin taking IVY.

Can Ivy chose?

While Dominating Red really focus on exploring and learning about Lukas side I'm a definitely a Reaper fan, I think it's because he showcases emotions although he doesn't want to show it but also he's not claiming anything of his.

I give this four Cat Paws, I'm sorry I'm just not clicking with Lukas! There's just something about him that rubs me the wrong way.

A bet worth making is about two people from two very different upbringing, Jordan has this big project in a little redneck town that she has to make a great impact on. All the while Casey the guy that lives in the little redneck town has been harboring his truly talent skills.

When I read A Bet Worth Making, it did take some time to start the whole bet betting business. But I could tell form first glance that both Casey and Jordan were hit with the love bug bite although neither one of them was willing to take that risk.

I really like that Jordan had a passion for fixing up houses as well as build them and what better than to do two love birds from the first book. However I wasn't a fan that Jordan felt that she had to put herself in a position. Although I saw the sentimental behind it, but I felt that she shouldn't have put herself in such a vulnerable position.

Casey definitely sells himself short by hiding his talent, but he also knows that he is head over heels for Jordan. Although the whole bet(s) that the two made could destroy what they have.

I give this 4 Cat Paws, overall, I like the book. I like the whole flirting dance between Jordan and Casey.

Serial Review: Desiring Red

Desiring Red By Kristin Miller
I’m indecisive when it comes to my shoes. Choosing a werewolf mate who’ll be with me until I croak? Pardon me while I take some time to think on it. But a steamy encounter before the final ceremony changes everything.

Reaper, the Omega’s eldest grandson, is fiercely loyal, scorching hot, and built for pleasure. He brings down my defenses, and before I know what’s happening, I succumb to the heat in his touch and the skill of his mouth. I’ve only just met him, but I need him like no other.

As part of my pack duties, I must parade in front of the Alpha, who has first choice of the pre-shifters. Rumors of his dark desires run deep, and I’ve always been intrigued. But the forbidden passion blazing between Reaper and me is too primal to deny. By pack law, Reaper can’t have me until the Alpha makes his choice…but Reaper’s never been one to follow the rules.

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW

Right off the bat, I still love Kristin's writing even when this serials has an erotic taste. When reading the description of Desiring Red, I was like this young female just has no clue what she's getting herself into and that was the interesting part on reading to see how she figures things out. As well the two werewolves that will turn her world upside down.

A little bit on Ivy, the poor girl that is in this uncertainly about life. I guess it's one thing to figure out what you want to do in life, it's another to try and figure out who you want to be with the rest of your life. Ivy doesn't have complete confidence in herself, until . . . Reaper comes along.

The Mysterious Reaper, he's supposed to be next in line but he's decided to drop everything to go chase a ghost. When he return after being gone for extend amount of time, the first thing he sees is Ivy, in a deep red robe, panicky. When they touch it's instant chemistry.
I actually really am drawn to Reaper . . . But I know nothing but his reputation and very little of his past.

Next we have the up and coming Alpha Lukas, I'm not even sure where he stands other than he can pick and choose any women to be his mate or his plaything (if you know what I mean). When Ivy has to be in his presence the first thing he does is brings out the Brandy. During their little interactions, I wasn't sure if bring out the Brandy was a way for him to get through all of this or simple just to drunken up female pre-shifers. But he didn't do either to Ivy, in fact he was rather curious about her since for Ivy its not about just her being a pre-shifter, it's also for her to determine if she want to join the pack.

NOTE this book ends in the biggest cliff hanger ever! I mean after getting to those last few words I was like "That's it?" That's all I get? But again it is a serial, so I can't wait to keep on reading it.

I give this 5 Cat Paws, clearly I was instantly drawn between Ivy and Reaper and their instant hot and sexy moments.
