The Werewolf Wears Prada Blog Tour: Interview + Excerpt

Today is the day four of The Werewolf Wears Prada by Kristin Miller Blog Tour, I had the greatest opportunity to read Kristin's new series and now again interview her mind once again.

The Werewolf Wears Prada (San Francisco Wolf Pack #1) by Kristin Miller

The Werewolf Wears PradaMelina Rosenthal worships at the altar of all things fashion. Her dream is to work for the crème de la crème fashion magazine, Eclipse, and she'll do much anything to get there. Even fixing up the image of a gorgeous, sexy public figure who's all playboy, all the time. Even if he's the guy who broke her heart a year ago...

Even if Hayden Dean is a werewolf.

Since his father's death, Hayden's the heir apparent to the San Francisco Wolf Pack—well, once he settles down. Hayden isn't interested in giving up his partying ways, except he's pretty sure he's found his fated mate, and the fact that she's a non-shifter is bad news. Now he must find a compromise between the traditions of his wolf world and his certainty that Melina is his...before fate (or another werewolf) bites them both in the butt.

Interview with Kristin

First, THANK YOU SO MUCH for having me on your blog today! As you know, I’m such a fan of your blog and can’t wait to read what you’re writing on the side!

What theme song would you pick to describe Melina and Hayden (separate and together)?
What a great question! For Melina, I’m going with something obvious: “Fashion!” by Lady Gaga. It’s got a groovy, mellow beat, and names all her favorite designers. For Hayden, I’m going to say something you might not expect. Amos Lee’s “Arms of a Woman.” I wrote the book to that song, and I think it fits what he was looking for in a woman, and what he found in Melina. As for the two of them together, it would be Susie Suh’s “I Do”. Especially this part:
“And all I am
all I have
doesn't even matter now
I can't understand why I feel this way
But I do
I do

I wrote a lot of the book to that song as well, so it’s fitting.

What would be Melina's go to fashion emergency?
She'd bring two dresses to every event! She'd wear one and pack the other, just in case she shifted and--God forbid--tore through the first one.

Every girl need something in case of an horrid fashion and with Melina being a fashionista you would think she has a plan in case something happens.

What would be Hayden typical attire?
Although he looks killer in a suit or tuxedo, he opts for more comfortable attire on a day-to-day basis. Jeans and polos, or jeans and dark shirt. That’s what I could picture him in.

What are one or two things that Melina and Hayden have in common?
1-Even though they root for different teams, they both LOVE football.
2-They’re completely dedicated to one another.

They do say opposite attracts right?

How would you best describe Melina and Hayden?
She’s feisty and fashion-oriented, and he’s a playboy to the extreme. They’re also both dedicated to their cause. She’s determined to do anything it takes to work for the fashion magazine, Eclipse (with the exception of turning her back on him), while he’d do anything to rule the San Francisco Wolf Pack.

What does the future hold for Melina and Hayden?
First up, since Melina is a turned wolf and a non-shifter for many years, she’ll want a wedding. White dress, vows, and all. I’m sure they’ll have an AMAZING wedding. Since he’s the partier of the two—and the new Alpha of the wolf pack—the event would be huge. The party of the century. Every werewolf in the pack would be invited. Since Melina’s obsessed with high fashion and off-runway trends, I’m sure her dress would be Vera Wang, and look something like this…

Wouldn’t you kill to be at that wedding?

I bet that her wedding would be extravaganza!

Thank you Kristin for stopping on by! And I can't wait to read the next book and as far that little "project" it's still in progress hopefully I'll dive back into it soon! If anyone's wondering what this "project" is I'm writing an Fan-Fic story BUT I'm not going to tell you who it is!!!!

Now check out this excerpt and then enter the giveaway for some great prizes!!!!

Excerpt: Chapter One

Life is not a fairy tale.
Melina Rae Rosenthal had lived her entire life repeating that mantra to herself. She’d kissed a long list of frogs, and put up with a lot of B.S. Today, however, made her question whether she’d been wrong, and incredibly bitter, all those years. She’d been asked out by one of the most eligible bachelors on the planet.
Prince Charming had finally arrived.
There was only one thing missing: a fairy godmother who’d wave a glittery wand in front of her face and turn her yoga pants into a puffy blue dress.
“I’ve got nothing to wear.” Melina dove into her walk-in closet, tossing leather pants and a fur poncho onto the bed behind her. “What am I going to do?”
Her best friend Colleen squealed from the bedroom, probably ducking for cover. Not very fairy-godmother-like. “Just calm down. You’ve been skipping around all day like Little Red Riding Hood on Redbull.”
“Not Redbull. Espresso.” Throwing hangers behind her, Melina huffed and shoved two coats apart. “I’ve had six today.”
“Six?” Colleen laughed—one of those witchy cackles Melina both loved and hated her for. She really was more like the Wicked Witch of the West than any fairy godmother Melina had ever seen. “You and Hayden must’ve really hit it off.”
Merely hearing his name made the hair on Melina’s arms stand on end.
Hayden Dean.
He was a San Francisco business mogul, millionaire, and model magnet. He was also scorching hot. Dark brown hair parted perfectly down the center with silky strands that nearly brushed his ears. Creamy chocolate eyes set against golden tan skin. Thick, swooping jaw, and a set of plush lips.
Totally Prince Charming material.
Before today, she might’ve settled for far less. She hadn’t had a date with a real man in months. The ones she’d gone out with had turned out to be mama’s boys, cat-callers, loud eaters, snorters, and scratchers. And if she went out with another guy who called her “Doll” she was going to scratch out his eyeballs.
She’d started to think the good ones were either already taken or dead.
“I’m telling you, it was magic. He’s not anything like you see on E! News.” They’d painted the famous Hayden Dean to be a stupid playboy. A chauvinist who cared for nothing and no one but himself. To her surprise, he’d shown her none of those things. “He’s unexpectedly…charismatic. And caring.”
Two hours interviewing the drop-dead gorgeous hunk, and Melina knew he was the one she’d been waiting for. The guy plucked straight from her dreams. He was tall, dark, and unquestionably handsome—more so in person, if that was possible—so staring at him while she fired questions about his personal life wasn’t the worst assignment she’d ever had.
And she could go off for hours about the trashy assignments she’d had from Celebrity Crush magazine. She’d worked as the Celeb Life & Style columnist for eighteen months, and longed to move up the ranks to Eclipse, the city’s leading fashion magazine.
Every article was one step closer to reaching that goal and leaving the unrealistic demands of her editor behind her.
“I’m stoked you two hit it off,” Colleen said, her voice laced with concern, “but they don’t call him Hook-Up Hayden for nothing.”
A subtle twinge in Melina’s gut warned Colleen might’ve had a point. All those stories about Hayden’s womanizing ways couldn’t have been terribly off-mark. But how could she turn down the chance to see for herself? Guys like Hayden didn’t come around that often, if ever.
“I think I can take care of myself.” Melina squeezed between two Gucci dresses. Exactly how deep was her closet? “If you got to know him, you’d see he’s different. Deep down, I don’t think he wants to be that way…the way everyone paints him to be.”
Colleen huffed. “You really think you know him? Deep down? After two hours in Starbucks?”
“Maybe, maybe not.” Melina’s fingers gripped silky-soft pleats. “Gotcha.”
She yanked a Prada gown off its hanger and burst into the bedroom holding it high. The dress was a gorgeous shade of eggplant. Grecian. Long and draping, with pleats on the gown and a dangerously low V-neck.
“Ooh!” Colleen crooned, jumping off the bed, her platinum blonde locks bouncing over her shoulder. “It looks like the one whats-her-face wore to that huge awards show last season.”
“Yes, but this one’s better. The V-neck is deeper, the skirt is tamer. The differences are subtle, but it’s striking, don’t you think?” She stroked the pleats, seeing the image take form. “I’m going to pair it with glittering gold Manolo Blahniks, nude lips, and the most fabulous earrings I can find.”
What better way to make a splash at the Silverlight Awards?
She still couldn’t believe he’d asked her.
Infamous womanizer Hayden Dean had leaned across their tiny table in the back corner of Starbucks, gazed deep into her eyes, stirring something in her chest…and whispered the words she never thought she’d hear: Be my date tonight?
Not only any date. His date to the Silverlight Awards. She’d walk the red carpet. Mingle with celebrities. Wave to the cameras. If she were lucky, she’d show up on E! News. The minute she’d returned from the interview, Melina had set her TiVo to record the event. Just in case.
“What do you think?” Melina bounced on her toes and met her friend’s bright blue eyes, practicing the show-stopping smile she’d give to the paparazzi that followed Hayden around. “Am I going to rock his socks, or what?”
“Wow, Mel, I don’t—I’m speechless.”
“Let’s hope he is, too.”
“I don’t understand why Hayden is going to the Silverlights in the first place,” Coleen said, her gaze raking up and down the dress. “He’s not in the film industry.”
“No, but I guess his father is on the Board of Governors and is getting some kind of honorary award for his work.” She shrugged, excitement pulsing through her. “Hayden gets two complimentary tickets.”
Colleen shook her head slowly. “And he asked you to be his date…”
Melina flinched at her friend’s disbelieving tone. “Why wouldn’t he?”
“I don’t mean it like that.” Colleen grabbed Melina by the arm and dragged her to the edge of the bed. They shoved clothes aside and plopped down, dangling their legs over the edge. “It’s just that…isn’t he still dating that Sports Illustrated model? You know, the one with the rack?”
“I’ve got a nice rack.” Frowning, Melina grabbed handfuls of her B cups and held tight. “Okay, okay, so they’re not as big as the other girls he’s dated, but at least they’re real! Doesn’t that count for something?”
“I don’t know.” Colleen shrugged. “I’m more of a leg girl.”
Melina snorted into a belly laugh. “I don’t think the size of my boobs matter anyway. He totally thinks I’m hot as-is.”
“Really?” Colleen beamed, snatching Melina’s hands off her boobs. “He told you that?”
“He didn’t say the words, but one glance and I could feel the chemistry. It was like—” How could she possibly explain their connection? It was crackly. Sparkly. Fizzling the air between them. “—Snap, Crackle, Pop.”
Colleen’s smile fell, and she cocked a thinly-plucked eyebrow. “You’re talking about the cereal? Sweetheart, I think we need to get you out more often. You shouldn’t feel anything close to cereal when you’re with a guy like Hayden Dean. You should melt. Like butter.”
“Oh, there was definite melting going on.”
If Hayden had been any hotter, he would’ve melted the panties right off her body.
“All right.” Colleen nodded. “You better get your petite ass moving. He’ll be here in twenty, right?”
Melina gasped, shooting a glance at the clock on her bedside table.
Six o’clock.
“It can’t be that late already!”
She swept off the bed in a whirlwind, dug around in her drawer for a pair of Spanx, and dashed into the bathroom. Squeezing into the bodysuit, she leaned and tugged as the stretchy material inched up her body.  With a groan, she wiggled into the stunning Prada dress. Colleen zipped up the back, oohing and aahing as Melina spun, excitement spearing through her. For the next fifteen minutes, she applied her makeup. Dried her hair. Straightened and smoothed down the fly-aways. If she hadn’t drained her bank account to buy this dress last week, she might’ve had the money to pay for a stylist. But things were tight.
As soon as she landed a job at Eclipse, she’d be fine.
Six-thirty came and went.
Glad to have a few extra minutes, Melina wiggled her size eights into her sky-high shoes and had Colleen strap them. She tweaked her hair. Reapplied her lipstick. Chose a pair of long silver earrings with chunky beads hanging off them. They were high fashion, bordering on gaudy, and they were perfect.
She checked the time on her cell, and just in case, scanned the log for missed calls. There weren’t any.
Nerves settled in, though there was really no room for them in her dress.
“I’m sure he’s having trouble parking,” Colleen said. But her voice didn’t sound so confident.
“Yeah.” Her lips twitched. “Parking’s hellacious around here.”
Melina shrugged off the doubt. As her toes protested the squeeze she’d put them under, she lowered herself onto the bed—keeping her posture straight so the dress didn’t crinkle—and then flicked on the flat-screen mounted to the wall.
“Look.” Using the remote as a pointer, Melina poked it in the direction of the television. E! News flashed over the screen. “People are already showing up.”
“I think they show up early and circle the block over and over again, waiting for the perfect moment to stop.” Colleen sat beside her, crossing her leather-clad legs at the ankle. She was long and lanky—probably six inches taller than Melina, who stood at five-foot-two on tiptoe—and hung her feet over the end of the bed. “I’m sure some like to be there first thing, and others like to make an entrance. From what I’ve heard, Hayden likes to have all eyes on him. I’m sure he won’t mind being late.”
It must’ve been Colleen’s mention of Hayden that made Melina see him emerge from a limo parked at the curb. The camera angle was distant and from the side, so she couldn’t be sure, but this man was the same height and general size, with the same complexion. He turned before she could get a good look at his face. He extended his hand for two blonde bombshells to exit the limousine behind him.
That couldn’t be right.
Blinking quickly to clear her head, Melina leaned forward as worry hardened into a ball in the pit of her stomach.
“Mel,” Colleen whispered, “is that…”
“I don’t think so.”
Colleen had either read her mind, or Hayden Dean was there with someone else. Two, to be exact. As the camera angle zoomed on Hayden’s look-a-like, Melina’s heart dropped to her Blahniks.
Hayden grinned and held up the hands of his escorts as they spun for the cameras, their green silky gowns hiding little of their curvy figures.
It was Hayden Dean. Playboy. Casanova. Pompous ass.
“Oh my God, Mel.” Colleen grasped her shoulders. “What a jerkhole!”
Melina nodded as tears pinched her eyes. She wasn’t crying for him. She wasn’t. She couldn’t be. She’d just been so freaking excited to be going to the Silverlight Awards. That had to be it. She’d spent all day building up tonight’s experience. She’d planned it all out in her head. Of course she’d feel deflated when the fantasy didn’t match the reality.
Cinderella wasn’t going to the ball after all.
Desperate to get a closer glimpse of the television and Hayden’s smug face, Melina crawled over the bed on her hands and knees.  When she reached the end, the breath whooshed out of her lungs.
“Are you okay?” She heard Colleen say. “Mel?”
“I’m fine.”
Oh, she was far from the bland emotion. She wanted to rip out Hayden’s tongue and shove it where the sun didn’t shine. The man was a snake in—oh God, was that Prada? They would’ve matched. They could’ve been the perfect pair.
“I should’ve known better,” Melina mumbled. “I should’ve listened to my gut. Somewhere deep inside I think I knew all those magazines couldn’t be wrong.” She shook her head. “I gave Hayden Dean the benefit of the doubt, and two hours of my day. Those are two things he didn’t deserve. I won’t spend another second thinking about him.”
“Good for you.”
Melina sighed. “I guess I just hoped—I just thought maybe for once, the fairy tale could actually come true for me, you know?”
As her legs cramped, she sat back. The ear-piercing sound of fabric ripping hit her ears. She stilled, slowly glancing down. She brushed her fingers over a rip in the Prada dress she’d spent her entire month’s earnings on.
Tears burning her throat, Melina glared at Hayden’s face on the television screen and realized two things.
By ripping her Prada dress, she’d just committed a fashion sin.
And fairy tales were most definitely real. They were. Maybe not for her, but for the girls on Hayden’s arms. They radiated happiness, their wide, innocent eyes taking in the fanciful scene around them. They smiled as she would’ve been smiling. If those blondes could live in a dream, she could too. She had control over her life, including who came in and out of it.
She should be blissfully happy too.
Why’d she have to wait for some dashing knight in shining armor to come riding in on a white horse and sweep her off her feet?
She vowed, then and there, in her torn Prada dress, that she’d make her fairy tale come true…without an arrogant Prince Charming like Hayden Dean on her arm, acting as if he was the one responsible for it all.

Kitty Blitz: 34 & a Half Predicaments

Book seven in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling
Rose Gardner Mystery series.

Rose Gardner hates seeing her normally flamboyant best friend Neely Kate struggle with depression. So when Rose stumbles onto a piece of evidence indicating her birth mother might have been involved in a crime, she does the one thing guaranteed to cheer Neely Kate. She convinces her friend to help her solve a mystery. Though their penchant for investigating has gotten them into plenty of pickles in the past, what can go wrong if they’re looking into a case that went cold a quarter of a century ago? But the deeper they dig, the more dirt they unearth.

While she’s busy unraveling the past, Rose must also reprise her role as the Lady in Black as part of her ongoing agreement with the king of the Fenton County underworld. In so doing, she discovers a mysterious enemy is intent on attacking her friends, and her assistant DA boyfriend might be next on the list.

As both situations reach a boiling point, Rose must face the possibility that certain secrets were meant to remain buried and not even her special talent can get her out of every predicament.

“I thought you’d been banned from the Piggly Wiggly.”
I turned around to see my former neighbor standing in line behind me. The octogenarian looked the same as ever—cranky—only there were some new faint blue streaks in her white hair.
I lifted my chin. “I guess that’s just proof you can’t believe everything you hear.” I pulled a bag of pasta out of the cart. “I like what you’ve done with your hair.”
She patted the top of my head. “What happened to my hair is none of your business.”
Fair enough. I turned my back to her.
“Are you still living in sin with the assistant DA?”
“I could argue that the answer to that question is none of your business, but I have nothin’ to hide. So if you’re asking if Mason and I are still living together, the answer is yes.” I set a container of strawberries on the conveyor belt. “What have you been up to, Miss Mildred? Have you stalked any other neighbors lately?”
“The neighborhood has been remarkably quiet since you left. Murder and mayhem are at an all-time low.”
“You can’t blame Miss Dorothy’s death on me. That was Jonah Pruitt’s mother.”
“And then there was the bank robbery.”
“I was an innocent bystander. Besides, you weren’t even there.”
She pointed her finger at me. “I heard about your job at that stripper club. God rest your poor momma’s soul.”
“I never stripped! I never even took my clothes off!” I protested louder than I’d intended. She didn’t need to know Neely Kate had taken a disastrous turn on the stripper pole.
A mother with two small children was rounding a corner just then, about to head down another aisle. Her mouth dropped open and she gave me the stink eye as she shoved her poor preschool-aged boy on the other side of her, away from me, as though my presence might somehow infect him. Only she pushed him a little too hard and he crashed into a cereal box display on the endcap. An avalanche of boxes came crashing down on him and his mother.
“Look what you did!” Miss Mildred shouted, louder than any loudspeaker could hope to be. Every person in the front of the store turned their attention to her.
“Oh, for heaven’s sake!” I shouted. “I wasn’t anywhere near that display!”
The store manager walked toward the cash register as Bennie—who was sacking my groceries—stared, taking everything in.
Miss Mildred narrowed her eyes and pointed her finger at me. “You are a menace to society. I’m gonna start a petition to have you kicked out of town.”
“You can do that?” If so, maybe I could somehow get Hilary kicked out on her rear. But my excitement over possibly evicting her was short-lived. I quickly remembered Joe saying if he had the authority to force her out of town, he would have done it by now. “Well, I guess that’ll give you some excitement to take your mind off how boring the neighborhood’s become without me.”
That wasn’t the reaction she’d wanted, but she clamped her mouth shut.
The mother of the boy was trying to dig him out from under a pile of boxes while her little girl started sobbing. “I lost my brother!”
The store manager had rushed over to help, but he kept throwing glances my way that clearly said he was trying his best to figure out how to blame me for the latest mishap.
Thankfully, the cashier said, “That will be one hundred and thirty-six dollars and fifty-nine cents.” Her tone let me know she was just as eager to be done with me as her boss was.
Bennie was bagging the last of my items. “Look, Miss Rose. I was careful with your eggs.”
“You did a great job, Bennie,” I said as I dug through the cash in my wallet. The girl was crying louder and her brother had joined in the chorus, although not because he was hurt—he was upset his mother had dug him out of his new fort. The afternoon had gone from bad to worse and I just wanted to go home. When I realized I didn’t have enough cash, I handed the cashier Mason’s credit card.
She glanced at it and turned it over. “This isn’t your card.”
I rested my hands on the small shelf near the conveyer belt, wondering why I hadn’t just slid the card through the card reader. “It’s okay. It’s my boyfriend’s.”
“But it’s not yours.”
“Well, no. But he gave it to me to use.”
She looked over her register toward the fracas behind me. “Ed.”
But Ed was too busy tripping over boxes and dealing with the irate mother to hear her.
“Ed!” she shouted, and when she got his attention, she continued. “We got a case of identity theft at register four.”
What?” I gasped.
The mother looked up at me like I was one of the horsemen of the apocalypse.
Bennie’s eyes widened like saucers. “You’re a thief, Miss Rose?”
“What? No!” I turned to the cashier. “I didn’t steal his identity. If you’ll just call Mason, he’ll tell you it’s okay.”
Miss Mildred gave me a smug grin. “I knew you were wicked since you were little. It was only a matter of time before you were put away in prison.”
“I didn’t steal Mason’s identity!”
The cashier’s frown deepened and it was a wonder she hadn’t set permanent lines in her face. “You can tell it to the Henryetta Police.”
Crappy doodles.

Review

In the new spin-off series of Kristin Miller's Seattle Wolf Pack, now called San Francisco Wolf Pack. Hayden Dean has the image of bad boy/playboy factor, but once his father had passed away he's next to be alpha. But Hayden seems to be neglecting that duty and with rouges killing humans on the rise he need to change things around.

How can that happen?

Bring in Melina Rae the girl he meet once before and broke her heart
Melina is one step closer to her dream job, but the one thing that stands in her way is Hayden Dean. She must turn his bad boy/playboy image into a suave suit-wearing/take it serious guy.

Can Melina change him or will he change her?

Or will they change each other?

I give this 5 Cat's Tails Up!!! Kristin blew my worry away, she delivers new twists to the San Francisco pack that wasn't in the Seattle Pack. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW

WHEW what can I say about this book? I LOVE IT!!!! Now I'll be completely honest I was concern about how Kristin was going to part from the Seattle Wolf Pack storyline and the repetitive that she was going to do as far to the world of her werewolves. However, Kristin really blew me away within the first three chapters, I could already tell that this was different and nothing close to how her Seattle Characters found their luminary.

http://www.sanfrancisco.travel/sites/sftraveldev.prod.acquia-sites.com/files/SanFrancisco_0.jpg

I love that she play with the idea of bringing a playboy characteristics which is exactly who Hayden Dean is with the exception that he grows fur and turn into a four-legging wolf every full moon. So how does Hayden go from being a playboy to suitable alpha? Not without a little help from Melina whom he met before and broke her heart. PS I also love how Kristin created this kind of "past love" even though for both Hayden and Melina that they only met once and instantly connected.
Can Hayden make the changes in his life to prove his worth of being alpha?

Beware of the Wolf ..They Dont Just Hide in Sheep Skin !

Melina clearly has goals, she is what you call maybe the overachiever in order to get to where she want to be in life and an top end fashion magazine called Eclipse. Melina also is very into fashion, PRADA, Versace, Armani, you name it although I could never and would never be able to own any of those name brands. In the story Melina is one step closer to getting her dream job BUT she has to change the image of a playboy which just so happen to be the GUY that asked her out a year ago, stood her up and broke her heart.
Will Melina be able to pull off her one shot at the dream or will something destroy it all?

Oh, I love this Prada dress. I love the button detail and what a great red!

San Francisco has more rouge problems then Seattle ever did (as far we know) it seems that San Francisco started parting packs when the old alpha has died and his son Hayden is next in line although no one believes that he should be given that title if he isn't showing suitable alpha materials.

So there's a struggle for power and control of the entire San Francisco pack, but for now Hayden must do everything he can to prove that he is alpha-worthy and Melina just might be the one to help him to it.

After reading The werewolf wears Prada, a little seed idea came to me but I'm keeping it to myself although I'll probably rant to Kristin on this idea. I don't know whose going to be the main focus in book two, I would think Gabriel, Hayden right hand man but then again it could be someone else that is just so small of a character that you don't notice him or her.

I'm glad that Kristin was able to make her wolf pack/luminary world with a little diversity, the first SF pack had an interesting diverse that I wonder what the next book is going to be. Even the third book since this particular series/world is three books.

WHITE HOT KISS synopsis:
One kiss could be the last. Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses. Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever. Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul. But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.

Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could. But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay… "Constantly entertaining...the narrative sizzles with as much tension as romance." BITTER SWEET LOVE Synopsis:
In a sizzling prequel novella to her new series The Dark Elements, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout draws readers into the extraordinary, irresistible world of Wardens and demons. Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining the balance between good and evil. He was her everything…right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally. And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again… "With her signature flare for combining humor, romance and action, Armentrout weaves a fast-paced read that will have readers' hearts racing in more ways than one. Like Armentrout's previous heroines, Jasmine is fun and full of attitude, while Dez is as snarky as he is sexy. This is a must read for new and old fans alike!" -RT Book Reviews

Waiting On Wednesday

Waiting On Wednesday

Okay now that I've read the next four books of the Rose Gardner Series, plus Ripple of Secrets. I can't wait for book 7 Thirty-Four and a Half Predicaments. Yeah I still have to post my reviews of the four books and I'm working on it but I'm treading slowly on that process.

Denise herself just reveal the cover of Thirty-Four and a Half Predicaments and honselty the covers are just becoming more beautiful!!!
I'd would be really curious to when Denise is ready to end the series, what kind of cover she would have as the final book. My guess and my hope is that Rose and Mason will get married and obviously have kids or maybe all in one book! The Political influence of JR Simmons will be over, Joe will find someone that he will love just as much as he did with Rose.
There's a lot of wishes and there's a lot of titles that Denise will have to come up with for the next couple books she has plan.

Thirty-Four and a Half Predicaments (Rose Gardner, #7)

Book seven in the New York Times and USA Today bestselling Rose Gardner Mystery series.

Top 10 Tuesday

Top 10 Tuesday
Top 10 Tuesday Meme is hosted by The Broke and the bookish
Today topic is who are the Top 10 Characters I would like to check back in with . . .

With All My Soul (Soul Screamers, #7)Opal (Lux, #3)Rise (Nightshade Prequel, #2)Spell Bound (Hex Hall, #3)

First it would be with my favorite YA book/series,

1. Soul Screamers
Everyone
Kaylee & Tod, Nash & Sabine, Emma, yes even Sophie(Kaylee's wicked cousin so to speak) as well all the adults that were involved in the series. Harmony, Brendan, Aiden.
I practically grew up with these guys or at least through my last year of high school while I spend a time rereading the books before the next one came out. Then ending with everybody in 2013, where everyone got a happy ending.
What is Kaylee and Tod are doing in their eternal life?. . . probably spending every waking moment.
What is Nash and Sabine doing? . . . Finishing up college, Nash is living an addicted free life & maybe wedding bells?
What is Emma doing? . . . Who knows where she'll go
What is Sophie doing? . . . probably enjoying her time being a big sister and smooching her necromancer Lucas
2. Lux Series
Daemon and Katy BLACK
Daemon and Katy story hit me like wildfire!  So there series has ended with Opposition, people were still like what about an Alien Baby? Now Jennifer did give us an unoffical future down the down and katy and Daemon "will' have a baby. But I left wondering what been going on in their world?
Beyond having babies, what is everyone doing in their daily lives?

3. Prequel Nightshade series
 Ember and Barrow
Rise was just a little too leave me hanging, I know the author will try to get back to that world after she fulfill her other books committees because really the War has just begun.  I want wedding bells between Barrow and Ember, I want the epic finale that lead up to Calla's story.
So will there be wedding bells? Will there be an epic finale?

4. Hex Hall
Sophie Mercer
This series was by far the best book I had read that involves witchcraft/warlocks with a special school for all those growing parents. This was an alternative of Harry Potter world so I was very into it when I began reading it. The only thing I didn't really see an offical happy ending so I have no idea what's going on in Sophie's world.
So what's new in the world of Hex Hall and what's Sophie been up to?

How about some urban fantasy/Adult novels?

Alpha (Shifters, #6)Gone with the Wolf (Seattle Wolf Pack, #1)Blood Bound (Unbound, #1)

1. Shifters/werecats
Right now I'm getting a little peek into Faythe's world as Alpha, a wife and clearly a mom! In Lion's Share so I'm beyond happy to see everything is all and well at the Lazy S even with a few kids running around. Go Figures!

2. Seattle Wolf Pack
I'm writing a fan-fic of this series so I kind of had a mind of what's going on in some of my favorite couple Emelia and Drake. Even when they appears in the next two books of the Seattle pack. So far it's three kids right? I'd expect more in the near future, it would be nice if Kristin could write just a little novella of them down the road but I think I'm already doing that kind of

3. Blood Bound series
Cam and Olivia, now clearly these two have gone through hell and back for each other. They were nearly engaged but then suffer a tragic breakup then got back together again and serving one of the most powerful people sharing their committed time. You wonder where anyone after their service binding is done, what do they do next? And that goes for the same with Kori and Ian, Sera and Kris.
But also I would love if the author did an book on Noelle who was killed but had a relationship thus having a child with one of the powerful men. I believe there's a story there but who knows maybe it will be another fan-fic project for me.

I really can't think of 10 characters from 10 books, I got seven . . .
