Book Review: Cold Blood

Cold Blood (Dirty Blood #2)

by Heather Hildenbrand

Cold Blood (Dirty Blood #2)Wood Point Academy is not at all what I expected. For one thing, it looks like a cross between military school and Buckingham Palace. Everyone stares, the floors shine so bright you can see your reflection in them from a mile away, and no one smiles. Unless they're kicking your butt in the process.

At least I've got plenty to take my mind off the fact that my psycho cousin, Miles De'Luca, keeps calling and declaring his love and promising to come for me just as soon as he's destroyed anyone standing in our way. Wes isn't going to like that idea. So between Miles, Wood Point's evil welcoming committee, and the drill sergeant hottie trainer from hell, I just keep asking myself, how did I end up here?

Cold Blood is Book 2 in the Dirty Blood series. To read more about the Dirty Blood series visit www.accendopress.com

I reviewed the ebook as part of the epic Blog tour of Broken Blood (Dirty blood #5) the final book of the dirty

Review
Being the new girl at a new school isn't easy but it's much worst when that students at this new school are all hunters. With an nurture & nature hatred towards werewolves.

Her mixed DNA that makes her a target . . .

Tara must learn everything about the hunter side of her  . . . whether she like it or not

Troubles are stirring but training is a kick in the butt for Tara.

Miles is still out there claiming there is a bigger plan in mind than what the hunters and werewolves should be worry about.

Can Tara prove herself worthy of being a hunter . . .

Or will something else take over?

I give this a 4 Cat's Tails Up, Overall I like this book. I think there were something that could have made it even better however it was a nice setup and broad horizon to Tara's future training. Plus a NEW Guy to drool over.

MEOW . . . MEOW . . . MEOW

Poor Tara, she has to make such an adjustment to normal school straight to academy training for elite hunters. It worst when she is called names because of her mixed blood, but what little do they do is the political influence her family name truly represent.

Logan and Cambria:
I love these two as a friend for Tara, she certainly needed one or two after all the criticizing Tara getting from the rest of the school. Some that were scared to be near Tara, some that were making jabs at Tara for her mixed blood but not Logan or Cambria, although it took Logan a while to warm up but Cambria was best friends on the the spot.

Alex vs Wes
Okay I know Wes is Tara's boyfriend but with his lack of appearance in the book even though Tara is at a school. It showed that Wes is too conflicted with his duties and trying to maintain a relationship of a destiny that Vera saw that probably put him on edge.

Now ALEX he's hot like he's a hot character to read,at first I wasn't so sure about him until that first kiss THEN I knew something was up! Honestly I like Alex like really really LIKE, I actually hope that he would possibly be Tara's new beau just because there's chemistry between them and you can't deny chemistry.
His past is really tragic and I'm surprise that he would share something so personal to Tara and I wonder just how much he likes her despite her "DNA" that everyone judges her on.

KISS TALLY
Alex: 2 and 2 near kisses
Wes: 2
Really Heather? is that just a coincidence that there wasn't more kissing between Alex and Tara over Wes and Tara?

More Meowing Meow
I'm not sure how much political aspect that Heather will put in as far Tara's future in the series, but I hope that it's not too heavy to determine where she wants to stand. As far the new guy in the picture I say bring him on!

What will be the new threat that both Hunters and Werewolves need to worry about and once they figure it out, will it be too late?

Will Tara date Alex???????

What will Wes do . . .

The Cat's Meow: Turning ONE!!

WOW I can't believe a whole year has gone by! It seems so unreal to me sometimes, at first I just only started reading and placing my review on Goodreads but now having to retire from a previous blog that I just no longer had any interest into it. But I didn't want to give up my reviews and narrow it back down to only Goodreads so then I heard Blogger was a great place to do all things blogging so I bit the bullet and created SassyCat's Books Review.

I change my Twitter title from my name to my blog name, and I made the first step putting my blog's name out there.

So a few Milestones to look back at . . .

Author Requests
My first author request, I read the The World Is Your Litter Box: Deluxe Edition: A How-To Manual for Cat. Yes that was my first ever where an author reach out to

me asking for a honest review. Even my cat seem to approve of the book as well

Author Events
I've attended two of Andrea Cremer's book events, one was for Rift and the other was for a pre-party release of Rise. It was truly an exciting time for me, she's really great and being that she "live" or is from  nearby city so close by that traveling isn't a problem. Also at one of her event I came across another author! Heather Anastasiu the author of Glitch series but I haven't attend one of her book event yet.

Andrea and Heather

My next author event was going to be Barry lyga's books but due to my unfortunate sickness I was dealing with I couldn't go but did get both of my books of  "I hunts Killers" signed by him and the crew at Addendum was so nice enough to send me a pic of him signing it.

The next author event was a spur of a moment and because I was in the area, I went and meet Jeri Smith-Ready and I barely knew her as an author but I was aware of what books she wrote. But she did talk about how much technology and social media have changed for authors and fans together and it was really a great discussion. So she signed my books Shade I had already pre-own and purchase Shift and Shine at the event.

My first ARC hard copy
Wile I havent figure out how bloggers get ARCs and I'm sure there's a trick to it, but there are two ARC hardcopy that I was super excited for. One was winning Jennifer L Armentrout upcoming book White Hot Kiss and out of 800 entries I was one of the three that won the ARC book!

Then the next one was really unexpected, but this is where my first real hard copy ARC comes in . . . the day Fire and Blood enter my house. It was about two week before Christmas and I know my parents do some online shopping but trying to keep it from me when it seem left and right I'm expecting something in the mail and then when I saw a yellowish package I wasn't sure what to expect because I couldn't recall winning anything but opening that and seeing that ARC line on the bottom of the book I was elated.

What the Future for SassyCat's Books Review?
Well right now I would love to revamp the blog, get all of those buttons/avatar and other goodies but I can't do that yet. So I hope that I'll be able to revamp SassyCat.

Another thing is Facebook page, I'm pushing and pushing back on creating one because I just don't know if I'm ready yet and I would like to have the time to sit down and process the whole creating the page and such

Booklikes . . . yeah I'm going to wait on that, I do have an account but it's so annoying to understand and it doesn't follow my goodread very well.

Tumblr . . . I have one but again don't use it very much, every once in awhile I will use it but not all the time so for right now it not important that I span SassyCat's to Tumblr.

As much I would love to do a giveaway . . . I can't afford it right now, but maybe when I reach Two I'll be in a place where I can do giveaways and such. Right now all I can give are my honest reviews, quirkiness on twitter and posting endless photos of my cat Buddy.

Meowing Meow: Star Crossed Episode 1

The Meow Meowing is a formative discussion! Not like my "The Cat's Meow" because that is where I talk solely about books and or what my pile is and such. The Meow Meowing is an open discussion and today I want to widen my blog and talk about TV shows!

Now I didn't really hear about Star Crossed until a few of my friends started talking about it, now as far I know that it's based on a book or something? Well I have no idea so but I'll get there . . . so now let's discuss.

What would you do if Aliens have landed in your hometown or town . . . and you realizes that there's is another species and now in the future have to co-exist?

  You look familiar . . .

So in the beginning we saw a little girl and alien boy bond a short friendship, the little girl Emery watch her friend be zapped by something even when he was protecting her. The thing about young kids, they are not judgmental and for the most part they can't understand what's going on in the world around them. So when the military barge in the shed and was pointing guns at both kids. Somehow no matter how young an alien kid may be, the military will do anything to take it down.

Stand up against your own kind

Now it's no secret that there's one alien or "tattie" that hates humans but I can't hate him (yet). I mean Greg Finley is so freaking HOT especially in that white shirt. The whole "Program:" about combining the tatties and humans together starting at the high school.

Parent Pressured

It's clear that Roman's dad has big plans for him but the first goal is to be able to co-existed at the high school. While Roman does what he can to not get in trouble or face conflicts but he will stand up for what's right.

The ending for the first episode will change dynamic for Roman and Emery, a friendship that only just starting may be broken again . . .

So right now for Star Crossed it got me interested enough to watch the next episode . . . how about you?
