Top 10 of 2015: Best Books

 Top10_horizontal

Best Books I’ve Read in 2015 (Doesn’t have to be released in 2015, just a book you’ve read in 2015)

Okay the top best book I read has to be Losing it by Cora Cormack, I read this book on my way home from St. Louis which was a 10 hours drive back home but I read it under four hours.

Wicked by J Lynn was another contender, I thoroughly enjoy the book but I'll have to re-read it again so I can jump in for the next book. When will that come out????

Of Shadow and Stone by Michelle Muto, this book was a fun read, I told Michelle that she should write an second book. We'll see what happens.

The Naturals (both book one and book two) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, I adore, Love, Obsessed with this series and I need book three right now!

I've read all of Denise Grover Swanks Rose Gardner's books and by far Thirty-One and a Half Regrets is my favorite out of all the books. But I still have a love/hate for thirty-five and a half conspiracies, there's so much I love but I still have a hate for what went down.

Another Denise Grover Swank book is Redesigned, those two characters are naughty and lovey towards one another.

Rachel Vincent (my all time favorite author) had two new books/series come out this year and I love both of them. The Stars Never Rise (YA) and Meneragie (Adult). IF you are a fan of the walking dead The Stars Never Rise I would highly recommend reading (no Zombies but there's a theme). If you're looking for something fresh and new/Never been written before then Meneragie is the book to try.

Tish Thawer's book The Witches of Blackbrook was amazing! and I can't wait for book two to come!

I was hook on Amy Mile's Wither book! I look forward to seeing where Wither takes her.

Holiday Blogging: Day Two

 Holiday Blogging Challenge

God this is so hard!!! I don't know if I've really read any holiday theme scenes.

Since Parajunkee mention about Harry Potter winter wonderland that I'm going to go with that since I'm horrible at trying to think of scenes from other books that I read.

This was always my favorite from the first movie, seeing the great halls fill with Christmas decorations and that free falling snow without actually getting snow??? I LOVE.

Holiday Blogging: Day One

Holiday Blogging Challenge

Day One: A Gift that I'm giving

Sighs I'm usually great at giving gifts and I guess I am, but sometimes it's hard to know if you truly given the perfect gift to someone. This year I'm gifting a awesome gift pack to Rachel of Fiktshun (SHHH) I can't say what it is but it ties in what she does outside of blogging. I brought this items a couple months ago yes I've held on to it this long but really when I saw it, I knew exactly who it was going to, who I was buying it for.

My card making is insane this year so a lot of people are getting my annual Christmas cards! I've been doing this for about four years now and at this point I should start printing off photos of each cards that I made and place them in a scrapbook to see how much has changes over the years.

Post NaNo

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around, blogging is my least priority nowadays and reading is light to almost nonexistence. Anyways I participated in NaNo this year for the 2nd time, my first attempt was back in 2013 but I never even got started.

This year I had a reason to complete NaNo, is so that I finally completed my Fan Fic story of a character from Kristin Miller's Seattle Pack world. Now that it's compelted, I'm slowly uploading the chapters on WattPad for readers to read it.

Now who the character you ask?
Well it's one that I've spoken to Kristin herself about, the BIG BAD Brother, yes I am talking about Silas Wilder. After Gone with the wolf, Drake and Emelia's story ended but they made a few appearance in the next few books in the Seattle pack series but Silas simply just disappeared so what really happen after he was arrest for the attempted murder of his brother and luminary?

That's is where I come in! I told her that Silas needed to have a story but she couldn't come up with one so I ended up taking the rein in creating Silas's story.

I've already knew what the title was going to be it was that simple enough but it was the matter of creating a foundation around a guy so cold that he would kill his own brother to get what he wants. Then I had to find a character that would soften Silas's side and that's where Chloe comes in.

The Title
"Taming the Big Bad Wolf"

 Taming the Big Bad Wolf

Synopsis

An Fan-Fictional story of the villain in Kristin Miller's Seattle Wolf Pack series book Gone with the Wolf.

He's was determine to take over the Seattle pack, he was going to take it by whatever means necessary. When his twin brother finds his luminary first the deal had already been sealed, Drake Wilder was now Alpha of the Seattle pack.

Silas Wilder cross the line when he threaten to kill his brother luminary as well as him, and he nearly succeed but he was unexpectedly weaken by his brother's luminary powerful stance and reinforcement came along and hauls him out.

Sentence to confinement, Silas had no hope of getting out . . . until now.

Chloe Reed just got dumped . . . Frustrated with men and relationships, she decided to head off to Seattle to visit her cousin.

Hoping that a change of scenery would help get her mind off her recent breakup, on her first outing she meet an mysterious yet intriguing man named Silas. For some reasons she is drawn to him.

Silas may have learned an awful truth and an conspiracy in the works, but he can't risk leaving Chloe behind but can he risk going against his brother once again?

Or will he lose the true value of what it mean cherish to have what's in front of you?

For both Silas and Chloe there's a risk, can Chloe tame Silas?

Or will Silas still aim for his goal?

here's the link to the story: https://www.wattpad.com/myworks/55947728-taming-the-big-bad-wolf

Length: 23 Chapters (including a prologue and Epilogue)
Word Count: 50,111

I really enjoyed writing this story, now note I do try to self edit before uploading. Since it's really just fan fic that I'm not too worried about the grammar errors although I did check it with my word doc spell check and grammar check.

I hope you guys also enjoy the story as well!

Top 10 Tuesday: 2016 Debut Novels

It's been a long time since I participated in the Top 10 Tuesday meme, I guess some of the subject weren't that interesting to me but also I rarely have time to blog anymore. I spend a lot of time online but mostly for school related stuff so after awhile I get tired of being on the computer.

This week is 2016 Debut Novels! Although I don't know if I'll get to 10 but we will see how far I can get in this post.

I knew once I did a search on Goodread it would help me figure out what are the 2016 debut novels!

Book Review: Bitterroot part 2 &3

Bitterroot by SM Reine and Heather Hildenbrand

BitterrootSeventeen year-old Regan Vuk has lived her whole life under the shadow of her mother, the pack alpha. Everything Regan has done has been to prepare her for the role of alpha someday. She is fast, smart, and determined. According to her own pack members, she is a shoo-in.

Charlie spent her adolescence drifting from place to place with a mother who only wanted to hide her illegitimate daughter from the unforgiving reality of pack dynamics. All Charlie has ever wanted is to know her father--and any other family that's been kept from her all these years. But most of all, she wants a place to belong in the world.

When Charlie finds out the only way to fit in with her new family is to defeat her long-lost sister, she refuses. That is until she learns that the strange and alluring vampire she's befriended, Owen, is the same vampire prince that's been promised the winner. Regan has no doubt that, although she loathes the vampires, it will be her who "wins" Owen.

Only problem: Charlie's already fallen for him.

Review
Two different worlds, two different point of view

Both Charlie and Regan are in line for alpha but the competition strain the opportunity of having an sisterbond.

Regan's goal is to become alpha and null the treaty at all cost while Charlie lost in the dark, making friends with the vampire prince.

Charlie might be what the two species need to create everlasting peace.

Together secrets will be reveal and new allies will surface as they track down the killer that killed Regan's mom.

But is the killer one step ahead of them?

I give this an four Cat's Tails Up, overall I like part two and three, there was more oomph with the characters and the story line.

MEOW . . .  MEOW . . . MEOW
Okay I'm going to be honest, while I gave my review of part one an 3.7 only because it felt a little cliche to me. But after a few talk I decided to read part two and three, my thoughts on the two parts had a different reaction to me from part one did.

Regan and Charlie both are still needing to compete with one another to determine who would be the next alpha. Both girls have their own disadvantages and advantages, both have different point of views about whose the real enemy.

When I had said that I felt this story was cliche from the first part of bitterroot, I still had that thoughts but as I read more and more into part two and three. There was something that stood out, I can't pinpoint what it was that stood out for me but at least something did.

Charlie is an character without judgement, she's that person you would call Switzerland because she stands in a very neutral place and she exhibits that neutral mindset. Her admiration for the vampire Prince Owen, she doesn't sense him as the enemy and neither does Owen. Together those two really stands strong with one another and gets along with one another rather than having conflicts like Owen does with Regan.

Regan's mindset is all on the alpha status, but in part three Carter an lifetime long friend starts showing as a love interest which I figure that Carter has always have had a crush on Regan. But something never had really clicked until now where just everything is at stake.

The title Bitterroot I had wonder what it represent and now it was revealed in part two that it was a flower that was toxin to werewolves and that there was no cure. OR IS THERE? Secrets were starting to be revealed in part three of Bitterroot and the competition was on! Love was heating up!

It will leave you wondering who will earn Alpha status rights which will be revealed towards the end of part three.
