Now I was originally schedule to do an review, but with school back in session and me still being in this deep book funk that I just haven't and can't commit to any fun reading time. I don't know how am I going to get out of this reading funk.

Perception: A New Adult AnthologyThe world will never look the same…

There comes a defining moment in every young person's life that irrevocably shifts their point of view. For a new teacher who still compares herself to her students, it’s a missing girl and a false accusation that could cost her more than her career. For a young man who settles into a rut that not even his broken marriage can pull him out of, it’s a drifter’s gun to his head. For an idealistic college student, it’s her parents’ divorce pulling back the curtain on who they really are, shattering everything she thought she knew about love. And for a recovering addict who's not ready to change, it might just be an unhappy ending to her illicit affair.

In Perception, discover five captivating stories that explore what it means to be a new adult.

Excerpt from Drive by Nealy Gihan:

Simona had been in third grade her first time at the diner. Her father had bought a van complete with pullout bed, VCR, and television, and the family traveled cross-country that summer. Perched in the plush driver’s seat, her dad said this trip would teach Simona and her older brother Carlos to better appreciate life. Even among luxury, Simona wasn’t sure how much she liked being pent up all summer alongside her bratty brother. But she did appreciate this place’s enormous vanilla milkshakes.

They were happier times, or so she thought. According to her mother, however, she should have left Simona’s father thirteen years ago. Simona didn’t believe her. Thirteen years ago, on this trip, her parents were so in love and happy. They didn’t even get upset with her when she lost the beaded ring her father had bought only hours earlier at the Indian Village in Cheyenne. Maybe it was still stuck between one of the booth cushions.

Simona poked a finger between the seat crease but only pulled out an old French fry. She glanced out the smudged window, fighting back tears and avoiding Trevor’s gaze.
