Dare You To (Pushing the Limits #2) By Katie McGarry
Ryan lowers his lips to my ear. "Dance with me, Beth."
"No." I whisper the reply. I hate him and I hate myself for wanting him to touch me again....
"I dare you..."
If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....
Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.
But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

Where to Purchase
Katie gives a thrilling new kind of love, where opposite truly does attract. After writing about Noah and Echo's love story, it was time for Beth and a new guy Ryan to find love and trust. At first I wish there was more of Noah and Echo but I'm sure she'll bring them back eventually, what goes around comes around. So without futherado I will let you read the review and my rambling thoughts of the book.
Review
It all started with a DARE, Ryan Stone a jock need to get a girl's number but when he meet Beth "Skater Girl" you can imagine she her words were anything less than the "F" word. When Beth's world goes upside down she is forced to live with her uncle and in her old town. Ryan's world seems perfect except for one little thing that might destroy his father's reputation. Beth and Ryan are each other's opposite but soon neither of them can avoid the fact that there is chemistry between them. But can Beth let go of her life that she finds nothing but heartaches and pain? Or will she embrace a new start, a start that could be with the deep-soul hunky jock Ryan? This next book brings a new kind of story one where opposite do attracts.
I give this all out Cat's Tails Up there is nothing about this book I didn't like, I love everything about it! Brilliantly written by Katie, I can't wait for more love stories with conflicts.
Ramble
What can I say? If I thought Noah and Echo's love story was intense, Ryan and Beth take the heat! I'm glad Katie gave Beth a new perspective on life even when Beth didn't want it or didn't think that she could wants what she desires. Ryan on the other hand is a new kind of guy, one whom we haven't met until now . . . he's the golden boy of his family but if you search deeply in his family circle, relationships are strained.
Beth struggle with trying to start a new life in Groveton, she doesn't fit in and she worries about what people might know of her past. She also run into her old best friend Lacy, who does have an insight of Beth's life but never will she say anything. Beth needs to let go of her mom, her actions doesn't do Beth any good expect cause pain and suffering.
Ryan is fortunate that his parents gave him all his needs for a successful baseball career, but when Ryan finalizes in a writing competition that is simply unacceptable. Ryan had everything set in motion until he meet Beth for the second time and he's even more intrigue by her when her uncle asked to keep an eye on his niece. Now Ryan can fulfilled a new dare, ask for her number was one dare now it was to take her out on a date. Yeah that will be easy . . . NOT
So the more Beth lives in Groveton and starting spending more and more time with Ryan, she begins to feel like she never felt before . . . the butterflies in her stomach and her fond memories of ribbons. Ryan does everything to show Beth just how great a life in Grovton can be and help her accept living her new life in Groveton and with Ryan.
One of Ryan and Beth's moment was in the pond, where Beth had to learn how to trust I thought this was such a touching moment. Ryan said that he'll never let her go, he also says he loves her in the rain.
The scene where Ryan give Beth a ribbon, that was the first step in Ryan's part, he was saying "I care about you and I like you" even though he mention that he has like her already. But bringing something of the past that made Beth happy was enough to melt my heart.
"My heart stutters at the sound of Ryan's voice. Damn, why do I have to find everything about this boy attractive? His voice, his face, his biceps, his abs...stop it!" ~ Beth

Memorable Quotes/Moments
"You're a lot like that bird in the barn. You're so scared you're going to be caged in forever you can't see the way out. You smack yourself against the wall again and again and again. The door is open, Beth. Stop running in circles and walk out." ~ RyanOne of Ryan and Beth's moment was in the pond, where Beth had to learn how to trust I thought this was such a touching moment.
