Reading this book was quick I had no idea how far I was until I thought I wanted to called it quits, but I continue on and it was a good way to end the first book. Now admittedly I was supposed to read way back at the end of April but I had some life things going on. But I'm glad I made myself read this book because I need to keep my part of the deal . . . Writing the review. So in all let's see what I had to say about this book.
Review
Allison O'Malley life was as normal as it could be but everyone know of Ali's mom condition dealing with schizophrenic, and Allison feels somewhat responsible for her mom's condition.
Now at age 22, Allison has figure out her life that included taking care of her mom and Grandparent like they did for her, but all of her friends and relatives say she need to have a little fun. But how can Allison have fun when her father Liam shows up 22 years later?
Now Allison must figure out how to keep her "father" away from her mother since he made no contact for many years, but it turns out there's a reason why Liam hasn't been around and how determine he is to make sure that Allison and her mother is safe.
Now its the matter of Allison's mom safety as well herself are in danger, can Allison face the person that took 22 years of her mother's life and almost destroy her life as well?
Can Allison save her mother or will she find something more lurking and dangerous?
I give this a solid 4 Cat's Tails review, I think I would have rated it higher but I felt that it took a long time to get to the majority of the story.
Ramble
Ok this was not a bad read but I felt like it took forever to get to the point. The concept of Ireland fairies and tales made the story unique but again it took awhile to get there. I thought it would dive right in to what the characters had to find out but it led to playing a waiting game. I don't like waiting games.
The book spent a great deal of Allison's life, you know the typical young adult life working towards her goals but also having the biggest crush on a boy she always liked. But Allison have always thought it was her fault how her mom became how she is because it been like that since the day she was born.
So She only has two things in life that she wants to do, take care of her mom and grandparents and get her degree. That is all she wanted but when her father shows up, that changes everything.

Why did her father show up now after so many years? It turns out Liam's old and very possessive Danaan Aoife cast a geis that prevented from him to not ever touch Allsion's mom again and was forbidden to leave Tir na n'Og. So the matter of the problem with Allison's mom was that she had an addiction to her father.
Now she's finding out that someone had something to do with her mom condition and that a very evil person is dying to be free once again.
Now things are even more terrify when Allison's mom disappears, Allison tried to understand why her father been gone and keep him away from her mom. Allison has to face difficult choices and save her mother as well other people that are close to her.
Eventually I'll see what this book series will be about but as for the first book, it was just a tiny bit short on background and what will the future hold.
